Various Rod Feedback Plz

Finally had time for the 2hr drive to Cabellas to pick up the Veritas Winch rod. Didn't buy it. Grabbed 4 cranks and 2 spinners instead

Ok so while looking around I almost whipped out my Visa and put $3k on it then I realized I can't possibly make any smart decision with the whole kid in a candy store feeling I had. Also thought about how much I hate being a responsible adult lmaoo

There's so many rods i see you all mention on a regular basis so I'm gonna name a few with hopes owners will respond their likes and dislikes then I'm gonna make a list of how many setups/jobs I want.

Fenwick - forgot model

Duckett - Magic something (not micro guide)

St Croix - Rage

G Loomis - SXX blue or something the 6' was $455

Shimano - Crucial

Ok here's what I want to do, I want 6 set ups. 4 for Bass 2 for Trout. My Trout gear is fine need the Bass stuff covered.

The 4 Bass like this 2 spinning 2 Baitcast I have Spinning reels already and know which Baitcasters to get

- 6'6"-7 M/F with low gear ratio reel for cranks

- 7'+ with mod/high gear ratio reel for spinners and or cranks in heavy cover.

For Spinning rods I have

- 6'6" M/f I use currently for cranks, Worms, misc.

- 6' ML/Moderate I use for spoons, plugs, and inline spinners.

Basically always use 1/4-5/8 size stuff and I want to basically have.

1 rod for Worms

1 rod for cranks, divers

1 rod for Spinners, inline spinners

1 Rod for top water plugs, swimmers etc.

HELPPPPPPP!!!! I'm sure whatever I buy is gonna be just fine. And ATTENTION LMG this will be 2 Stradics 2 Chronarchs lmaooo

For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun

to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics.

#1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs,

some soft plastics and spinnerbaits.

#2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble

hook lures.

#3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures

and a variety of techniques.

I suggest starting with just one high quality combination, then building

from that. s you gain more experience you will have a better idea on

what you like and need. If you are not already comfortable with a baitcaster,

I suggest starting with spinning gear. Specifically a St. Croix Avid AVS68MXF/

Shimano 2500FJ or CI4. Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6.

The baitcaster I would recommend is similar: Avid AVC68MXF/ Curado 50E/

Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12. Both of these set-up will allow you to fish virtually every

technique except big swim baits.

I have spinning gear covered just looking at the baitcasting gear for the job specific applications. From what I'm gathering any mh mh/f 6'-7'6" I'm gonna be golden. What rods do u use? Brand/etc.

Of the rods you've mentioned the only one I've used is the Rage. I just bought a 6'8 med fast and will be returning it. For a $150 rod it's too tip heavy in my opinion and the neoprene handle felt like it was rubbing the hide off my hands after a couple hours of casting.

I advise you to take RoadWarrior's information and run with it! WIth the setups he laid out for you, you would literally be in fishing gear heaven with those rod selections. You would have some of the best equipment available on the market period. Definitely go with all of the reels he suggested for each technique. There is a reason he paired each reel to each rod for its technique and he did an excellent job with it. If I could have those selections I would be thoroughly happy.

The only thing I might change is the Dobyns Champion 683 to either the G. Loomis 873c or 893c. The Loomis 854 would pair nicely with a 873 or 893 and should be able to cover your jigging applications. Kent, which series were you recommending for him from G. Loomis?

"Dam007", Rodwarrior really knows his gear and what he has laid out for you would all be excellent setups. Personally, I would love to have all the rods and reels he mentioned. From what you said, it seems that you do not have any real money constrictions. If this is so, on all the G. Loomis rods he posted try to get either the GLX or NRX series of each. You will not be disappointed and furthermore, you will never feel the need to upgrade your equipment.

Also, if you want to go a different route other than G. Loomis the Dobyn's Extreme rods are excellent rods as well for jigs and soft plastics. I would go with the Loomis' though IMHO.

Kent, which series were you recommending for him from G. Loomis?

GLX is what I have, but the NRX is another step up. Bassin Blvd

says the NRX compares to the GLX like a GLX compares to a 2X4.

I don't know, that's a pretty bold statement! Before you jump in with

both feet, I would recommend starting with a NRX 893C and see what

you think.

Thanks for input guys. For the BC reels I was planning on doing 2 chronarchs one 5:1 the other 7:1. Give me a couple days to look up gear you guys listed before I respond further. To answer financial restriction question, I'm cool with dropping $800 on 2 setups. And if I can make out good on Black Friday or during holidays in general, I may go further. Key is a 1 for 1/4-1/2oz Cranks and 1 for 1/4oz spinners.

I have a Lamiglas SW rod, good stuff!
