buzzfrog Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 these were on sale at Dicks today and picked up a pack, i though maybe a 3/0 weighted hook and swimmed along the weed line and thru submerged wood. or a swim bait trailer. to me these basically look like a fluke.skinny dipper/ grass pig. have you used them, if so do they produce, your opnions, to me these look like a good bait, but only time out will tell Quote
ChrisAW Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I like them on swim jigs or just a jig head. Haven't had the chance to use them on much else though. I like them because they have a lot of action with that speed-worm style tail, but in a shad shape so its more compact. Less tails ripped off since its easy for them to inhale the whole thing. Quote
buzzfrog Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 alright, i got a few jigs heads, i may try 1 on each rod rigged differant, these scream i am gonna catch somthing Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 I am a huge fan of the Zoom UV Speed Worm. When I saw the design on the subwoofer I had to try them. The same tail action but in the shape of some type of baitfish. I quickly became a fan of these as well. Here's how I rig them. 1 - weightless EWG - Reel it on top for some awesome strikes. If you miss it let it sink and they usually gulp it down right away. 2 - Weighted spring lock hook - Swimming just above the grass/weed edges. Good reaction strikes. 3 - God old ball jig - Obviously for open water situations but it get's bites too. I have not tried it as a swim jig trailer yet. I find they do pretty well by themselves. :-) Quote
TheKingFisher Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I like the subwoofer a lot and have caught good fish on them when others weren't catching at all. The fish seem to prefer them on the move which makes sense considering their design. While bank fishing one day, I actually watched a couple of bass in clear water right below me chase them as I reeled in close to shore but when I got in close enough and ran out of runway and slowed down or stopped they backed off. I wasn't catching anything otherwise that day so I toyed with them a bit. The fish were clearly intrigued and not spooked so I figured that was also a plus. Quote
5fishlimit Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I pick some up from Dick's and use the on a booyah swim jig. I've also cut them in half and threw them on a spinnerbait as a trailer. Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I've had pretty good success with these on a weighted screw lock type hook. Light weight, 1/16th but so far I've only fished them at a pond so I didn't have a need to go any heavier. I haven't had a chance to try them out on the lake. I was using greenpumpkin with the tail dipped in chartreuse Spike It. Like most everyone else said I just cast and steady retrieve them. It seems to me that the slower I reel them the more strikes I get. They are a great bait IMHO for their price. I hadn't even thought about putting them on the back of a swim jig, thanks for the idea guys. Quote
mnbassman23 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 one of my favorites Swim Jig trailers Quote
