Hey everyone!

New guy here and have a question, I tried searching with no luck. If anyone can shed some light on this for me I would be very greatful!

I purchased a Bottom Line Fishin' Buddy 2200 portable fish finder, came with no manual or user guide so that's my problem! I have no idea which buttons do what, or which functions do what. If anyone can refer me to an online manual for these that would help a ton! I searched google with no luck. I even tried looking up the Bottom Line company site so I could email them but can't find a company site for them.

I basically just want to know how to switch modes, check depth, water temp etc. Also when I try to turn the unit off the power button doesn't do it, tried holding it down and all it does is beep. Power button works fine to turn the unit on... Also I read that this can do bottom and side mode simultaneously but when I turn the unit on I think it's only showing one mode. Not even sure which mode it's in! I really need help haha.

Thanks,

Mike

Bottom Line was absorbed by Hummingbird several years ago. You might contact them and see if they can help. The easiest way to be certain that a unit is off is to disconnect the power source. Should you take the batteries out of the unit then you know for a fact it is off.

I've got one of these old units (no clue what model # or where the manual is right now) and it seems to me that it was pretty self explanatory. What happens when you get it out on the water and play with it? As I recall the only thing that the buttons did was to switch from single mode (looking down) to dual mode (side scan & down looking). As I recall, the side scan was a pretty useless feature.

Anyway, if Google isn't any help, I'd contact Hummingbird.

Bottom Line was the original company that had that type unit.

The side looking feature was called "Side Finder" and the portable unit and some of the regular display models had that function. I used to have one of the regular models--there were two transducers and a switch box to choose which direction to view.

When you select the Side Finder transducer, you get V-shaped lines on the display to show the "cone" of coverage. Any fish that it interpreted were given a distance number. You just have to be aware of which direction the transducer was pointed.

I doubt that Humminbird will repair it.

You nailed it!

I searched Google for 3+ hours last night before posting this thread. I contacted Humminbird last night, they replied this morning with a manual! Very impressed with the fast help. So if anyone needs a copy of a manual for the 2200,2202,2250 I have it! Upon reading the manual, it is a little more complex than just turning it on. There is range settings and fish alarm settings that I still am confused about but the manual helped.

Thanks so much to both of you for your replies! Great forum, I can't wait to read/learn more! Can never know enough about catching bass!

Mike,

I picked up the Fishin Buddy 2200 at a garage sale this fall and I need a manual for it. I contacted Humminbird and they said they no longer have this manual. Is there a way to send me a PDF copy of it please? ttfwc@msn.com

Thanks

I bought a pelican boat from a friend (one I met on this site).  He threw in a very similar unit from Humminbird (free of charge).  There's absolutely no sour grapes because I didn't ask or expect it but it didn't work (broken).  Just sayin.'
