My son and i want to catch a big Pike and a Walleye. We are in the Nashua and Concord areas. Where are our best bets for them? Driving from the Southern NH area? We have a 12 ft jon boat with a 5 hp motor and a troller

Well I've caught both in the Merrimack out of the Lawrence Ramp...about a half mile past the sailboats is a lily pad cove that has northerns and I've caught walleye under the 93 bridge. I think that you'll need a Mass license and leave the lead at home.

As Shane said, the Connecticut is by far your best place for both of those, but there are Walleye in the Merrimack as well if you go down in southern Manchester/Bedford/Merrimack NH. Here is a pic from the NH fish and game website of a 30 inch Walleye caught and released from the Merrimack in 2010.

Be more than a day trip unless you like punishment but the impoundment at Littleton ( I think it's Monroe ) has both your boat and motor should handle it since what I've seen there are not large areas of open water. Someone else that has fished there might chime in.

That picture of the walleye from nhfg website was caught near goffs falls on Merrimack river. Take everett turnpike get off at south river road in Bedford just after the tolls. Take a right onto a river towards Merrimack/ Nashua and a couple roads on your left after lowes and target theres a road calle moores crossing on your left go to the end walk to the train tracks towards the left and on the right youll see a trail it'll bring you to the rriver just after a bridge and a good rapids run. TThe walleye pile up there it is a nice pool lots o current and structure they are many quite that size infact I haven't gotten one close yet but I do catch walleyed by the dozens there
