Super User clayton86 Posted July 13, 2012 Super User Posted July 13, 2012 any one see that at iCAST I Just got the email from Abu about it. Wonder what the prices will be like probably not as bad as the Japanese tackle in my other thread bout JDM stuff. Im thinking my SX could go for that long handle and eva nobs Quote
LuckyHandsINC. Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I saw it mentioned on tackletour but havent found any real info on it. Do you know if they have more than handles and knobs. Maybe the shallow spool for mgx? Quote
j.bruno Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Yea looks nice. Thinking of getting a Revo S, Throwing a longer handle and EVA knobs on it. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 14, 2012 Super User Posted July 14, 2012 I wonder If those handle's can fit some of my older, straight handle Daiwas. Quote
jj'sbassinforfun Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I got the same email. "Finally" we can play! Bet it cost me a fortune in upgrades!! Might need to float a lone! I wonder If those handle's can fit some of my older, straight handle Daiwas. I have swapped handles between Daiwa and Abu, No issues. Even the nuts fit(same thread). Quote
Matthew Veillion Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Will the carbon fiber handle fit the old revos? Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 14, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 14, 2012 i know you can get shallow spools for the MGX from japan on ebay for like 120 Quote
Mike__D Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I can't wait to see what they have available. Mike D Quote
dcorp Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Not sure of the prices but I will be picking up a few of those handles for sure. I bet they will be half the price of the JDM carbon handles.... I hope. Quote

Megastink Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I'm sure we'll find them in clearance bins everywhere at some point. Quote
Kevinator1 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I kind of like the idea of being able to change out handles etc. I think the Revo shop thing might be what other companies start doing also. Quote
CKFishin Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I need Shimano to do this lol... Awesome idea Abu 1 Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted July 29, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 29, 2012 yeah I was thinking that to but I like the swept design and I'm not a fan of cork knobs I'll get a Hawgtech for my Citica and get these for my Revo's Quote
oldschoolbasser Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 You can change the handle on the older Revos to a swept handle by changing the drag star wheel. I did this to my Premier and it cost about $50 for the star and complete handle. The new handles should be available at the end of Sept and I plan on upgrading a few more reels with the longer handles. Quote
jj'sbassinforfun Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 If your cheap like me, You can carefully bend the star drag on the older reels. Use a cresent wrench with a few layers of duct tape stuck to the jaws to avoid scratches. Quote
