Did anyone fish what looked like a tourney to me in the Nashua river sunday? How did they do ? lots of fish ? just curious.

These were very well decked out bass boats many with 250 and 300 hp motors, decked out trucks and trailers. atleast 15 of them maybe more.

LOL. Why in the world would you need a 250 or 300hp outboard as a amateur fishermen. Wait I know just to show off how much money you have. The boat and outboard don't make the fisherman. LMAO!!

I think the same thing, then i think about it again and say to myself... if i had money to burn i would probably have one also, instead i am quite happy with my 12 ft pieced together from craigslist $425 total special also. ( not counting the new deep cycle extra large marine battery )... sure its small but, light simple and easy and goes many places those guys cannot. ofcourse i also am not gonna be flying across winni in mine either,

Nev - My club held a team tourney there on 7/8, I believe there were some nice bags brought in. I know back in March when we had that warm spell I was out on the Nash and I can attest to the number of large and I mean large fish I spotted cruizing getting ready to spawn. There are some really big fish in that river, it is just tough finding them with all the weeds.

My club is NH Bass Hunters. www.nhbasshunters.com great bunch of guys!

I never got why you'd need something remotely that big for fresh water. Growing up on the ocean That's what I'd have on the back of the 24' Renegade I used to go Tuna fishing in. People amaze me

Thanks for the info Chris. I was just curios how you guys did. I pulled a new personal best that morning at 6 lb 1 oz and also a 5 lb 4 oz as well as a huge 4 lb 1 oz smallie. all of them came in the heavy weeds. It literally was my best morning ever. I posted the pics in a different post. The fishing just died out after 7:30 or so for me but I stayed till about 9. Did you guys all head down to the Hollis end? I have been down there once and had real good luck but it takes me too long (30+ minutes ) to get there in my boat. Some day i will have a bigger faster boat as well as what i have now. Till then i am very happy fishing what i can when i can. You guys definatly have some nice boats and i am not afraid to admit i want one just like it . Keep fishing keep enjoying , i know i will. Thanks for the info.

Hi Nev,

I was one of the other guys fishing the river that day in my 12' rowboat with a 10hp outboard...

My fishing partner and I were on the river for about an hour before the "great bunch of guys" bass club came roaring up the river in a line of 15(+/-)

Some of the group could have used more discretion with other boats (smaller) around in their attempt to "get there first"...

I have done the fast boats / fishing clubs scene before (riding an old Cajun with a 150hp on the Nashua river back in the mid 80's when the new launch was nuthing but a mud ramp), and as much fun as the blast off is and the race to get to your favortie spot is, we always used common sense and courtesy with other boats already there that obviously got up earlier than we had..

My partner caught a 4lb that day.. working the weeds/pads hard with a mud bug.. I caught a 3lb myself with a weedless frog..

Food for thought..

I never caught a bass yet that gave two shakes whether the two dollar worm it had the mis-fortune of chomping on was getting pulled in by an angler on a $200 boat or a $30k boat.. you can spend what you want on the fancy stuff.. but ultimately.. your throwing a $4 lure at the fish.. same as the next guy..

Take care.. have fun fishing and boat safe!!

Thanks for the info Mad Dog. None of those big boats bothered me, they all slowed down in good shape. I was just trying to find out how they did and if they did good, was it only down the Hollis end. It takes me 1/2ish hour to get there in my boat just trying to get info, I think i may try to go all the way to Hollis area on sunday and fish the weeds pretty heavy, Some day i will have a bigger faster boat to get htere quicker. But first the kids have to get thru high school and college, the savings accounts need to get a lot bigger. Also the wife says i can have any boat i want after we take a 3 week vacation to Italy and a 2 week vacation in Hawaii. Its gonna be a few more years x 10

Not that it's a pro bass tourney boat by any means but I do have a 16ft sea nymph for sale 2 seats at console front and back pedestal seats built in live well and storage and holds 8 rods. 35hp Johnson in back trolling with pedal up front and a hummingbird fish finder. Looking for a couple grand what I've got into the engine in tune ups and maintenance for the past couple years
