Hard to say much more than its about time. I'm sure there will still be an equal amount of PO'd people this year when team X or team Y doesn't get into the playoff. But it's a good start.

The only thing that bothers me about the playoff system is who is going to be on the committee.

Old coaches have l-o-n-g memories and they could vote against a team in revenge that clobbered them or they don't like the head coach, or stole a recruit, etc.

Radio and TV personalities make predictions and they will select the teams closest to their predictions or in their geographical/broadcast areas. (Finebaum would vote for Bamasux if the Tide was 0-12)

Tim Brando is from Louisiana and his daughter graduated from LSU. Is Tim going to make his daughter angry at him by not voting for the semi-pro team in Baton Rouge? (Geaux Tigers)

There may be some people who do not watch a lot of games and have never seen or viewed the candidates only once or twice during the season and they vote on name recognition. Good-by Boisie State, TCU, Utah, Kansas State and all the ACC teams.

Will there be athletic directors, college professors, business executives, sports reporters, etc. on the committee? And what are their biases?

And how many people will be on the committee? I heard 20. That would make it very interesting picking the 4th place team when you have 20 people with the majority not knowing the teams or hating one or two teams vote on the last team in plus the fact that there may be some females who have no idea of who to vote for.

Then they will be crying that the system is flawed. This is a no win no matter what. The first time some ones feeling gets hurt. They will change it again and add more teams. Then if notre dame should be able to make it. They will cry and then more school will be added. God forbid a sec team don't make it. Could you imagine if a sec team or a other major school don't make it. It will not be pretty. It will get to the point in our life time. Were the regular season don't matter. Just finsih about .500, and your in.

Hey Vol Fan, do you think if Phat Phil Phulmer is on the committee he will vote for Satan and Bamasux to be the 4th team? I don't think Phil has a lot of warm fuzzies for the Tide.

What about Bobby Bowden? He wanted to coach at LSU and they turned him down so he went to FSU and made history. Then FSU dumped him. Will Bobby support FSU as one of the teams or LSU where he wanted to coach? LSU promoted Charlie Mac to head coach after Dietzel left for Army.

Spurrier has not made many friends so he better be in the upper three to get into the playoffs. And LSU turned him down as well and went with Archer.

Keith Jackson loves Bamasux. But Keith is a knowledgable college football guy who would give the committee a lot of creditability with their selections. And Jackson loves the SEC. He also has close and personal ties to Nebraska. The Georgia native with a degree from Washington State would be a great addition to the committee.

The AP poll may enter back into the picture, too.

Should be a fun time seeing what happens as long as four SEC Conference teams get in!!!!!
