auburn5 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Im looking for a reasonably priced rod. What is the best Crankin rod for the money Quote
The Next KVD Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Can't go wrong with a Abu Garcia Veritas Winch. at a $100 its pretty easy to swallow. Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 26, 2012 Super User Posted May 26, 2012 Bass Pro Shops IM6 Crankin Stick. Excellent for the money! Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted May 26, 2012 Super User Posted May 26, 2012 X2 on the BPS Crankin' Stick (I have 4 of them). They went up $10 this year to $79 but still a very good value for the money. They will periodically go on sale for $69 I would think.... Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted May 26, 2012 Super User Posted May 26, 2012 X 3 on the BPS crankin stick!!! I used one for a long time, they are easily the best value when it comes to a crankin rod. Quote
auburn5 Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 I've never held a BPS rod I'll have to check them out. Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I have a Shimano Convergence Crankbait rod that I use and I like it, I paid around $60-70 for it. It has a nice parabolic bend and Moderate Fast taper to it. If you are looking for a good starter rod I would look into that model. Quote
JunkYard814 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I have the St. Croix Mojo Crankin rod and love it. I think its around the $100 range. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I have a BPS Carbonlite 7' M/M rod that is excellent for 1/4-3/8 oz cranks and a Powell 703CB Glass that handles lipless and 3/8-1 oz cranks perfectly! I would recommend either. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted May 28, 2012 Super User Posted May 28, 2012 If you can get beyond the Powerhump grip on the BPS crankin stick, it is a fantastic value. I still have one here that gets fished just as much as my more expensive rods. Great rod. Best for the money is highly debatable. Personally, I've fallen in love with the Dobyns glass rods. Enough that I'm probably going to order another one or two before too much longer. Quote
unionman Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I have the St. Croix Mojo Crankin rod and love it. I think its around the $100 range. Although I dont have a crankin rod of theirs, yet, I have all Bass Mojo rods. Very nice and high quuality . Its the most sensitive rod ive ever owned. I think you can get a glass casting rod from them too. Quote

I don't think they actually call it a crankin rod, but under the description thats what they say its best used for. Hands down one of my favorite rods. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted May 29, 2012 Super User Posted May 29, 2012 Medium weight lures: St. Croix Avid AVC66MM Deep divers: Lamiglas SR705R Quote
stkbassn Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Powell Diesel Glass or the Powell Composite Deep Cranking rod. Both very hard to beat. Both unreal for the money on each end of the spending spectrum Powell rods are just hard to beat, period. Quote
Lrbergin Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 BPS Crankin' Stick. You can get better rods, but you can't get anything better for the price. It's a great rod for a good price. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted May 29, 2012 Super User Posted May 29, 2012 AVC70MHM, So versatile that you don't need an arsonel of crankbait rods. Quote
mmoritz11 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 veritas winch..i have it and absolutley love it! very light with a firm sensitive backbone Quote
The American Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Both the BPS carbonlite and crankin stick are on sale right now. Hard to beat either for the sale price. Quote
