Dateline: Friday, May 25th, 2:45 P.M.

Germantown Public Pond

Rage Tail Lobster rigged on a Moaner prototype

It's 95 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. First cast at 1:00, not a single strike.

After fishing a steep bank to the end of the pond, I turned around to walk back

without much enthusiasm...it's hot!

Instead of "fishing", I simply cast as far out into the pond as I could, then "trolled"

the Lobster, releasing line as I walked. Every 75 yards or so, I retrieved the bait,

then recast to the middle. The fish struck about half way back.

No initial run, just straight up and out. Oh my God!

I had at least 75 yards of line out and had no control over the fish whatsoever. Up

again! Now running to deeper water I was able to retrieve some line, but she was

in no mood for sun bathing on the beach.

After a few minutes, the Walmart Girl was mine...

No pic, no scale, no claim to weight, but she was HUGE!

And that is exactly why we all are addicted to bass fishing! Congratulations!

"The Mermaid of Germantown Pond" ;) And we can only fantasize of her shape, size and beauty... Our Brother RW was swooned by her so we can always tell this story from a close personal perspective....

Battles of that type need to be captured on video but then again, maybe with this encounter it's only right that she disappeared back to the deep with only a memory and a song, WTG RW I love these battles and stories too!

For the love of all that's holy -- get a phone with a camera in it. :)

He has one, but he is to "tech challenged" to even operate the camera! HAHA!!

So what you're saying is that we stand zero chance of RW taking and posting a pic unless Shimano comes out with a camera?

No...When I have someone with me, we'll get a few pics.

Next weekend I'm fishing ledges on Pickwick with four other

boats. If we catch something "picture worthy" I will have someone

post it for me.

Just so you guys know, RW would only own a "Shimano" camera, AND "picture worthy" to him is a GIANT to us! Ledge fishing should produce a good fish for him, so hopefully we will see some.
