If you don't have a crap ton of milfoil where you are fishing, then do this. Lights out!

1/4oz Jika Rig with a Rage DB or regular Craw. So money, it's silly.

If you want a good quality reliable Crankbaitt I would suggest the Koppers live Target crawfish paterned silent squarebill crankbait. I usually try and bump into whatever I am fishing when fishing crankbaits. The koppers live target craw are expensive at 11 buck a piece but they worth it. The KVD 1.5s are also a really productive crankbait again I would suggest the silent squarebilled version. Right now with the water temp in the low to mid 60s it is crankbait time.

Shane, I never knew the name of that rig with the free swinging weight.Ā  I saw Stacy King fishing that on a program that I watch on YouTube call Southwest Outdoors.Ā  It's a Texas-based weeklyĀ fishing show.Ā I have learned a lot from that show.Ā  The host, Barry Stokes, will even respond personally to emails.Ā  They had Stacy King as a guest when they fished Table Rock.Ā  He was killing it on the same rig you have above.Ā  I notice your Curado is left hand retrieve.Ā  Are you left handed, or is that your flipping/pitching setup, in case you hook a fish immediately on the fall and don't want to take time to switch hands?

No, I reel lefty all the time, but I'm right handed. Go figure, huh?

Went out for about 3 hrs today and caught about 15. Only 4 nice ones and the rest were very enthusiastic little guys. Not sure how the baby smallies even thought they could eat the crank I was throwing?? All but the smallie were caught on a Live Target pumpkinseed crank and the smallie was caught on a senko.

Wish I could help, but I barely even know how to get to Milford, and I haven't shore fished in a dog's age. Sorry. I'd just start running around on Google Earth, and find some water. You may just discover a secret spot with some lunkers in it!

Doubtful. Probably the most over fished piece of water in the state. You want a real shot at a 10 pounder in NH? Fish Highland Lake in Stoddard. I have personally seen a 10+ in there.

Last time I was there I saw a good 5.5 or 6 jump right out of the water.... Ā No tens in there, and if there is it is just going to sit at the bottom of the lake

Gotta be some small, out of the way places you can find, and have pretty much all to yourself maybe.

My 2 biggest largemouth have been out of small ponds that dont get much pressure at all for bass. Bing maps is also a goodĀ tool to use along with google maps for finding spots if an area doesnt come up clear on google maps.

I'm heading out in the AM, but I will be on the water all day.Ā  Not too often I get a day off from work.Ā  Where can i put my boat in at Mendums?Ā  I always go to the UNH rec. center and I believe they are closed after Sept.

There is a dam on the far end off of Mendums landing road not to far off of 4 that you could park on the side of the road and carry in. It is right in the middle of a left hand corner. Other than that I'm not sure. I was out on the 1st and UNH was open about 3 for sailing.Ā

Ok thanks.Ā  The rec. center is open to UNH students only after Sept.Ā  I don't mind carrying in, but I may be solo, so I hope its not too far of a hike.

Ready for speed

I can only guess what he is thinking

I talked to someone who owns a camp on Swains, he said the association is lowering the lake later this year then normal. Now just have to wait for all the weeds to get away from the ramp. On the good news fish are biting and rage craw black with blue was preferred bait today over 2 dozen total for the day. I'm in Portsmouth also but my boat is full size so I have to have a ramp accessible lake. Good luck all.

Anyone know of any good ways of how I could put a fish finder onto my canoe?
