Pail Rider Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I think that has happened to us all...and no doubt about it, it sucks. Good for you having the pfd on. I have a set of truck keys and a couple combos on the bottom of Harvey Lake in Northwood from a canoe tipover....that was a long walk home that night. Quote
Pail Rider Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 My son and I got out on the Stumps for a couple hours yesterday afternoon to relax after work. He landed 2 on a buzzbait (no scale in his yak) and I Landed 4, smallest 2.3 lbs and the largest was this 5.6lb chunker. 1/2 oz black jig w/ a bama craw trailer punched through the mat accounted for 3 of my bass. 3 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted August 27, 2013 Super User Posted August 27, 2013 There you go, dude! That's how you fish that place. Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 That really does suck but everyones right. at least your safe. how deep of water did everything go in? We were in 20ft Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted August 27, 2013 Super User Posted August 27, 2013 We were in 20ft Dude, I would be breaking out the scuba masks and doing some swimming. 1 Quote
NEjitterbugger Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Dude, I would be breaking out the scuba masks and doing some swimming. It was real cloudy so we couldn't see down there, very clear lake though... it's like an hour away by car, then it is a 20 to 30 min paddle to get on spoonwood... The fishing is great though! Quote
Nashua Nev Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Guess i will have to plan a sunday trip to spoonwood Quote
bobh64 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 No fishing for me this weekend, far to many fools on the water getting in one last beer while riding their jet ski or boat. Been on the water long enough to know when to stay safe on shore. 2 Quote
Pail Rider Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Busted another good one last night after the thunder rolled through. This 6lb/2oz hog didn't want to come out of the salad, I thought she was gonna go 8+ with all the crap I pulled in with her. 1 Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Some nice fish there boys, I will be back at it tomorrow morning after 10 days in Vegas. Bob just stick to some smaller body of water , or stop fishing when they come out to play. There is plenty of water to fish for all of us , and them. It was the same thing where i grew up on Bow lake. Just have to adjust if you want to fish. Nothing wrong with joining in other fun later. Yes there are a few yahoooos out there, but there are also us having fun on our water skiis and tubes with the kids. I plan on being out on the river for 5 am or so. Quote
DevilDoc Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Hooked under tongue pulled her out of a lot of veg. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 No smallmouth over 2 1/2 lbs, but lots of them. Fished the river above margaritas in Nashua this morning from 6-9 in the canoe with the trolling motor. Quote
mhtranger Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Where is that? I fished the river on Thursday and put in at Stellos and went up to the golf course. Not to many fish but I think it had to do with the weather. I want to fish it again but have to put a prop on my boat first. Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 For the upper part of the river you can put in at Stellos, or off of Tilton st, which is off of Broad st. Any size boat in that part of the river all the way up to the Hollis Runnels bridge. Gotta find the underwater stuff that you cant see from the top. There are a lot of fish in the river, but it is big --- lots and lots of water and places for them to be. This morning i fish from the back f Technology way, there is a boat launch behind Pine st ext. (you need written permission and easy to get) From there you can go all the way to the Margaritas dam or all the way back up to the bottom of Stellos. Or atleast until it gets too rocky. Should be able to get past behind Home depot at exit 6. Make sure you fish that bridge atthe highway.. You wint be able to get anything big in there with the water lowered like it is now. Jon boat , canoe , i recommend motor, water is moving a little fast for just a paddle unless you just take out behind the library or off of Franklin st. If you want more info , its tough to type it all, but we can talk on the phone. Quote

Spyder Bass Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 can you please refrain from that fowl language and nice fish Quote
YungAngler Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 So I caught my first big small mouth on Champlain this weekend. No pics.(phone was dead) and no witnesses as my friends were still sleeping when I took a stroll around Burton Island Sunday morning and fished solo. It came in slightly over 4 pounds and fought all the way to the shore. The bite was tough all weekend, and other than my "phantom" fish, as my friends called it, we only caught 2 bass over 2 pounds - although we did have a few decent sized one's throw their hook. We fished Lake Carmi on Saturday. We knew nothing about this lake and just needed a place to crash on our way to Champlain. We only fished their for a couple hours, we got their late Saturday, but I have to say it was one of the coolest places I've ever fished. Caught my first Pike and Walleye within the fist half hour on the lake. Amazing experience, and although I wont stop fishing in Southern NH, I will certainly be doing a lot more fishing in VT next summer. Tip of the cap to VT State Parks. 1 Quote

Vermont is the best state around man. I plan on moving there next fall with my girlfriend if all falls into place I love hunting and fishing up there its like the only piece left of true nature in the country in my opinion. Quote
