  3. well i can't decide. i really like my avatar and i like that fact that it is one-of-a-kind because i painted it, but.. i've had it up there for a while and it might be time to change. so, keep it or replace it?
  4. ^ posts so much in this thread that it makes people (myself included :-?) run out of things to say about him!
  5. yep, thats all i do. i take 19guage stainless steel wire and bend a piece thats about 2" long around a nail. then i chuck the loose ends in a drill and slowly twist the wire around the nail. it makes a nice twisted loop. you can see these better in my other swimbait thread (a swimbait in the making). well i just tested this lure out in the bath tub and it doesnt swim :'( BUT! it still has CRAZY action. the lure weighs about 3/4oz (definitley doesnt need any heavy gear) slowly sinks, and when it reaches the bottom, it sits upright on its hooks! on a straight retrieve, nothing happens, but give it a tiny twitch and it shoots off to one direction and bends at the joint. give it a series of twitches and it just dances all over the place. it walks the dog pretty good. i think this bait is gonna be killer for bed fish especially. this bait was very easy to make. it would only take me about 3 days to make one, and it wouldnt be too hard to make 3 at a time... maybe i could make these for production
  6. nice fish. how are you holding it? looks like you got it by the whiskers!
  7. awesome fish man!
  8. ;D you're lucky i can take a good joke i am VERY addicted. making swimbaits is a good productive way to pass the time during the summer. cant wait to catch some fish on them! oh, and no im not gonna foil it. i will be painting this one.

  10. ^ really likes to use that popcorn smiley
  11. here is a small swimbait i modeled after a Giron: since i took the photo, i have made the line tie and hook hanger, epoxied in all the hardware, poured lead in the belly for weight, and sealed the lure. tomorrow morning i will test the lure in the bathtub to see if its got some good action.

  17. i searched on BR with many key words like the website, oakley, cheap oakley, etc. but couldnt find anything. then i remembered the person ordered a pair of oakley fives, so i typed in "oakley fives" and the first result was the one i was looking for problem solved.
  18. ^ should put that purdy orange reel of his on a carrot stix
  19. i say just go grab a rapala DT FAT 03 and a DT 6 in just plain ole silver and just cast them all day. never switch to anything else. fish them in evey way imaginable. they are versatile little lures. just dont put the lures down. eventually you will find some fish and start to establish a pattern of what kind of retrieves are working and etc. i actually catch a lot of bass by bringing a DT 6 through shallow water (about 4 feet) VERY slowly and steadily. i never stop the retrieve, just slow and steady. if i go too fast, i hit the bottom and pick up gunk, so i have to keep it slow. bottom line: cast them all day and never give up until you have found out what works and doesnt. fish them in many different ways. have fun. good luck!
  20. my dad has a gov. ID, but before he goes through the registration process on that site, i wanted to ask this person who had bought from them before how much a certain pair of shades were. if the price was right, i'd get my dad to register and i'd buy them.
