  11. thanks so much for posting that! that was the funniest thing i have seen in a very long time! ;D ;D ;D
  12. well the other thread got me wondering, what is your favorite album? i can tell now i'm gonna be the only one voting for Load :
  13. this is so true. start out doing stuff right and it will eliminate a lot of headache and discouragement i like to use some kind of foil tape, its some off brand but its very sticky and works well with lures. easy to smooth out too. foil tape is much easier to use than aluminum kitchen foil.
  14. no critiquing necessary...that looks AWESOME! nice job man!
  15. wow looks like he wrestled it in the mud! ;D thast great. nice fish! did you measure/weigh it?
  16. wow thats an awesome story! beatiful fish. congrats! it must feel good to break a 19 yr old pb!
  17. acrylic craft paint is waterbased, so there is no need to thin it with acetone. you can thin acrylic with water or windex. as for your other paint questions, i really cant answer them because i dont have an airbrush so i dont know anything you're talking about
  18. gorrilla glue should be fine for the ballast because like you said, it will never be pulled on. as for screw eyes, i dont use them. i use twisted wire loops, but i know that a lot, if not most people use screw eyes. since i dont use them, i dont know much about using them, but i do know that you want the threaded part of the screw to be pretty long and you also want to epoxy the screw eye in. as for epoxy, you can get it anywhere, walmart, lowe's, true value, local hardware store... it will cost you about 3-4 bucks for a tube, and a tube will last you for several baits. a "tube" is acutally a double-syringe (two tubes put together) with a plunger at the top that pushes the two parts out of the tube.
  19. i've never used gorilla glue before, so i have no clue how strong it is, but i will tell you that if you use 2 ton epoxy, the wood will break before the hook hangers pull out. i always use 2 ton epoxy to glue in my hangers and weights. what i suggest you do is take a scrap piece of wood and do a little strength test. on one part of the wood, insert weight and hangers with epoxy and on another part of the wood insert weight and hangers with gorilla glue. then do strength tests on them and whichever one holds up better is what you should use on your lure
  20. i like how musically involved and how much variety their newer music has. it is VERY different from their earliest work, but i like it equally as much.
  21. no problem. feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
  22. when people say they "foil a bait" theyre talking about one of two things. one is that they laid a layer of foil with a texture on it and paint over it, like a rapala. the bait in this picture has silver foil with black, white, and red paint over it. the other type of "foil" is when someone prints a fish image off their computer and then glues it to a piece of regular kitchen foil (or foil tape) and then glues that to their lure. this is called photo finish. ebby's baits are photofinished.
  23. thanks dumbdog, the baby bass was my favorite too. for the baby bass, i sprayed a white basecoat with enamel spray paint, and then painted on the green with acrylic paint and a paint brush. then i paited on the stripe with a paintbrush and acrylic paint. then i sprayed the black on the back with black enamel spray paint. for the shad, i sprayed a white basecoat, sprayed silver on the sides and then sprayed black on the back, making sure they all faded into each other. then i painted the gill and spot with acrylic paint and a brush.
  24. i'll see if i can figure out how to add multiple participants to a PM and i'll PM you guys sometime soon.
  25. sweet! glad the bait is working out. cant wait to see pics of it and some pics of bass you catch with it
