  3. here is another single from their new album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8DOMmhvxZU&watch_response just like their old stuff this new album is gonna be great
  4. i havent had any problems when thinning devcon with denatured alcohol. if glass resin strips paint, that would be the reason why nobody uses it for lure building
  5. yup, what texfishin said is aboslutley right. but there is a trade off to printing on tissue paper vs. regular paper. when you print on tissue paper and glue it to foil, the plus side is you get a reflective bait, but the downside is you really lose a lot of detail when you print on the tissue paper when you print on regular paper and glue it to foil, the plus side is you get much better detail, but the downside is it is not reflective. i personally prefer printing on printer paper and gluing it to foil tape and applying it to the bait for two reasons: 1: i find regular printer paper is easier to hadle and work with than tissue paper. 2: it gives better detail. you may be wondering "if regular paper won't be reflective on foil, why put it on foil?" i put it on foil tape because i have found that when i try to just glue paper straight onto the bait, it does not want to conform to the contours of the bait, and it won't stick right. when i glue the paper to the foil, the foil will conform to the bait and hold the contours, and the tape is super adhesive.
  6. lookin good! 8-) reminds me of the ones i make. how's it swim?
  7. i'd bet money the above post gets attention from a moderator
  8. just googled "castaic rock hard shad" and i got a result with a link to tackle tour, and it showed all of the new castaic rock hard baits. they look vey cool. i love the baby bass! i may have to hold out on getting a tru tungsten or spro and wait for these castaic baits to come out!
  9. misery loves company ;D Is that why you hang around here so much?
  10. I think this happend to me last week. I had a fish just destroy my Spro frog and I got a quick look at it's top fin and tale. The thing was huge and I couldn't pull him out of the weeds and lilly pads no matter how hard I pulled. I was going to wade out and get him when the frog finally came out. I figure it was either a state record bass (+13lbs) or a very nice cat. It's killing not knowing the awnser. ;D just try to convince yourself it was a catfish, then you won't feel as bad ;D nice fish paul. that is certainly a large cat!
  11. misery loves company ;D
  12. is that a local bait manufacture? i've never even heard of them...
  13. yes its actually aluminum (metal) on a roll with adhesive on one side. not duct tape. i think i got mine at some hardware store, probably either True Value or Lowes.
  14. paper to foil: spray glue foil to bait: i use foil tape, so i dont have to use any glue.
  15. was it you that was boycotting SPRO because they coppied Mattlures?
  16. these baits are obviously competing with each other, i was just wondering which one you would buy. right now im leaning toward the Tru-Tungsten because both of the baits look nice, but i like the fact that the TT has two trebel hooks and you can adjust the sink rate of the TT.
  17. the weight will vary depending on how many tungsten balls you put in it.
  18. if you're concerned with fish seeing the sharpie just take an xacto knife or something and scratch the diving depth into the bill. this way, you cant see it, and it won't wear off over time like a sharpie will.
  19. yeah that would be one of the best times to use it.
  20. "The Largemouth Bass is an ambush predator and uses its disproportionately large mouth to capture its prey, which includes smaller fish, frogs, crawfish, raccoons and Labrador Retrievers."
  21. LBH, not sure if you visit www.tackleunderground.com or not, but if you have never been there, you should definitley check it out...its the "bass resource" of lure building there is a great member submitted tutorials section of the site, but the site is doing some construction so the tutorials are currently unavailable. there are two good tutorials for building drying wheels. i'm sure there is some information available on the forum about making drying wheels, just do a search
  22. my guess is that devcon is much easier to find than glass resin. i have never seen glass resin in any store, then again, i have never really looked either... :-? devcon works great, and it is easily obtainable, so that is why most people use it. keep us updated on how the glass resin performs though. if it works just as well as devcon and is as cheap as you say, i might switch over to resin!
  23. thats a great looking bait in that thread! if by "foil" you meant photo finishing, here is another tutorial you might be interested in, its the one i learned to do photo finishes from: http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/hard-baits/7671-photo-finishing-foil-faux-finishes-tutorial.html
  24. yep. let it sink to where you want it, then twitch it at a cadence.
