  1. the tail is pretty neat. i came up with it all on my own, i haven't seen anyone else do a tail like this, so i think its safe to call it my original design. i'm going to do a tutorial for it soon, i guess you'll just have to wait till then.
  2. yes there are black flakes but the color is just called green pumpkin. its a really good worm. green pumpkin and junebug are my two favorite colors for this worm. i was using it weightless, i've never used this worm with a weight. Sam, i hooked a 3lber shortly after, and i had it right on shore, its head was out of the water on the bank, i reached down to lip it, and the hook came flying out of its mouth. i was pretty p.o.'d
  3. ...of that green pumpkin ripper worm
  4. tried it out today. i was suprised to see that it actualy had some action on just a plain steady retrieve! on a straight retrieve, this thing had incredible body roll. it would roll 180° on the retrieve. it would go from vertical to having the entire left side facing up, and then the entire right side facing up, and back and forth like that. not the most realistic swimming action, but kinda neat. it also has a pretty good darting action when twitched along.
  5. i dont even know where mine is... :-?
  6. those shallow XPS cranks are awesome!
  7. very cool: http://www.fieldandstream.com/article_gallery/Airborne-Bass-Chasing-Dragonflies-Above-The-Surface/1
  8. not me. i just grabbed the pic from a random website.
  9. it took about 2 hrs start to finish, not including epoxy drying times. thats a heck of a lot easier than a swimbait
  10. LOL!
  11. oh, ok. thats good
  12. now they're green again?!?!? maybe its just my computer.... :-?
  13. is it just me or did most of the links change from green to blue? the links to click on someones profile, private messages (at the top), the link to go to last unread messages, they're all blue, and turn purple when they've been clicked. i liked the green better... :-[
  14. well yesterday my mom made me clean the garage, and seeing the workbench so clean made me want to make a bait : i didn't really feel like making a swimbait, so i just made something easy. i really like the way this one looks. its a new photo i got, and it really matches the hatch to those tiny bluegills that over-run the shallows of the local lakes. im hoping to get a nice darting action out of it...will report back later with what kinda action it has. this bait measures 2 5/8" from nose to tail the bait: i weighted it just right so it sits on its nose, should be good for bed fishing in the spring:
  15. i dont care who caught it or what kinda gear they were using, its a nice fish regardless! and im pretty sure this is a scanned photo (looks that way) and that "rod" infront of him is actually just a crease in the photo. i say this because there are no "guides" on the "rod". also, it looks like there is another crease to the left of the one in the middle. anyway, its a nice fish, no need to get all caught up on how it was caught.
  16. holy crap
  17. I don't think anyone was saying it looked like a mount, I think the question about the mount was posed to answer why he was standing in a driveway with the fish as opposed to releasing it, but that's a whole other can of worms that has been discussed and argued in the past. yup
  18. i would burn shallow cranks over the weeds, or fish with weedless plastics.
  19. reel cover wouldnt have prevented this. he dropped it on a rock while fishing (landing a bass). it'd be hard to fish with the reel cover on.... POTOMACBASS: if the reel still works fine i wouldn't worry about it too much. looks dont matter much in fishing reels, functionality does
  20. nice fish. did he get it mounted or something?
  21. metallica black sabbath led zeppelin AC/DC johnny cash deep purple
