  1. You should look at Xpress before you buy.
  2. I just got confirmation of a free rod replacement from Fenwick. I should ship out some time today. The rod that broke isn't made any longer so they let me choose the replacement. It doesn't get any better than that.
  3. I don't know what you trim looks like. I have had good success with Lock n Haul (used it for several years on a 225 Merc Optimax). It won't fit my Merc Verado so I am using a pair of MY WEDGE on it and like them really well.
  4. When I turned 50 I was offered 75% of my retirement and 1/2 of a years pay to take early retirement. I loved my job and had spent 10 years building it up but the people above me in the chain of command weren't my kind of folks so I jumped all over it and left. I sometimes miss the work that I did but not the people in the building. Since then I had a "dog and pony show" for a while teaching people how to relate to their kids. Then I worked as a sales manager for a boat dealership. Now I fish and supervise my farm.
  5. Fenwick HMG Limited Lifetime. I have a warranty claim in right now.
  6. Just one more link in the chain that can mess up or break. I use snaps instead of snap swivels for some applications like A rigs.
  7. Try tightening the spool tension knob 1/4" and see if that helps.
  8. I make my own with fiberglass heads so they aren't heavy. I have used all sizes of heads but I prefer to use a 4/0 hook on a 1/16 oz head. I also make the like "flash mob". The extra blades helps keep the baits up as well as produce a lot of flash like a school of shad.
  9. I have retrieved several rods for guys over the years. All you have to do is take a metal sap stringer and open the snaps. Tie a cord to it and toss it out. Slowly drag it over the area until you hook the line or the rod. Mission accomplished.
  10. I have the Ulterra and Lowrance units. I am progressing along the learning curve. I am leaving in a couple of days to go on a 2 week fishing trip and plan to record some itracks. Is there a way to name them so I will be able to tell them apart. I can't find any reference to this in the manual.
  11. I have an assortment of rods; Gloomis, Fenwick, Falcon, and St Croix. I don't know how many reels I have but I carry 18 in the boat. All of my reels both spinning and bait casting are Shimanos.
  12. You should check the water level at least 1 time per month.
  13. X2 That is the way I do it.
  14. If you make them for yourself and don't sell them then no one the wiser.
  15. I can not compare apples to apples here but close. I had a 225 Opti on a 20'6" Champion. I now have a 250 Verado on a 20'4" Nitro. If anything the Verado uses a little more gasoline.
  16. It is turned off. Does it still draw if plugged in?
  17. I have the Ulterra with I Pilot and the blue tooth compass. When the remote is turned off and the Ulterra is turned off, is there any electrical draw?
  18. Don't know about most people. I run between 40 and 65 depending on how far I am going and how fast I want to get there.
  19. I use St Croix Avids 6'6" medium and Gloomis IMX medium 6'6". The reels are Shimano 2500 series. The line is 10# mono. Heads vary as I make my make my own with keepers or home made screw locks.
  20. I have a 250 Verado and take it to the Bass Pro Service Center once a year. It runs about $250 for all lubes, filters, and labor along with about $15 for donuts so they will be glad to see me come in.
  21. Now if you get some shrink tubing from The Mud Hole you can cover it and it will last as long as you will.
  22. This is the way I set up the screens after the recording. Recordings go into the head unit so no card is needed.
  23. I use the Pitzen (16/20) Knot for everything. I can tie it with gloves on in just a few seconds.
  24. Hey trimming up sounds like a good idea. I hope to be able to work on this Monday. I'm just trying to get my head around all of this.
  25. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I am talking about building a track not following it. I have 2 places that are 1 mile long each. I want to make a track for each and store it.
