  1. Either one. It just depends on what you want. I think HB has the best side and down scan and Low has the best 2d sonar. When you say you are putting "chips" in when you buy I assume you mean map cards. If that is the case you can network the units and have them share 1 card. I have 3 units in my boat all using 1 card. It would be time well spent if you went to a store that carries both and look at them and the key functions to help you make your choice.
  2. I've been wearing them for years. I clean them and all other glasses and screens with a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol along with a microfiber cloth.
  3. If you are in an area where they have boat shows, take one in. Lots of dealers are willing to give some very good deals at boat shows on new and used products.
  4. I only use Shimano. I carry 18 bc and spinning setups in the boat.
  5. Bass Pro spends more on ads than Lowe generates. Tracker also put lots of boats on the market with under powered motors and trolling motors. The aim is for the first time buyer. Lowe started out as a family owned company just NW of where I live. They sold and became part of OMC. They later became a part of a major conglomerate where the took a back seat to Lund and some others in the Genmar line. Now they are a part of the Brunswick line of products. Lowe hasn't been a lead product since the Lowe family sold the business.
  6. I use 1/8 and 1/4 more than any other sizes.
  7. So Allen are you single or married to a blind lady??
  8. I have 3 of them. 1. 6# fluorocarbon 6'9" ML rod for Ned Rigs 2. 12# fluorocarbon 6'6" MH rod for jerk baits and light jigs 3. 12# fluorocarbon 7'6" MH rod for cranks and shaky I probably use them more than my other Shimano reels.
  9. The best bait I have used day in and day out on rip rap is a tube with a 1/8 oz jig insert. I loose way less of them and catch as many fish as I do with a jig.
  10. Our Department of Conservation says our spots are the Kentucky strain.
  11. The worst $600 I have ever spent was on an Aqua View camera. It was next to worthless. Any sunshine at all made the glare so bad you couldn't see anything. I wound up giving it to my son in law to play with in his boat dock.
  12. Tom we have Kentucky spotted bass here in MO. Our lakes that have threadfin shad for forage have good sizes of KYs. It is very common to catch them from 3-3.5#. Our state record is over 7 #. We also have a hybrid strain called the meanmouth. That one gives about the best fight you can get. Our state record of them is over 5 #.
  13. Don't have questions any longer. I switched to MK.
  14. I've broken several rods but it was stupidity not temps that broke them.
  15. I used to use Walt's synthetic blend from Bass Pro Rod and Reel repair center. Then Walt retired and it was no longer available. So now I just use Shimano oil.
  16. You might also look at Captain Hooks.
  17. When I fry I use corn meal on the fillet pieces after they have been dipped in a batter of milk, egg, and mustard. Toss them in my Fry Daddy and let them turn golden. Never let them cook very long. It will ruin the texture and flavor. But for today, I have a 6# walleye filleted. I'm going to put some olive oil and lemon pepper on it and pop it on the smoker for about 2 hours then have it with home made hash browns and asparagus, a wonderful lunch coming up.
  18. That is absolutely correct. Can you get your money back on the total scan? Will your TI run total scan? You want map sharing get an ethernet cable it the TI is ethernet capable.
  19. I did hundreds of them in years past when all you could get was written ones. Your lat lon numbers have to be the same like degrees/minutes/seconds. If they are listed differently your wpts won't be accurate. If they are different then you will have to use a conversion program to change them to the same coordinate system before you input them.
  20. Have you checked your primer bulb and fuel lines?
  21. I saw a real good video of Shimano Reel Cleaning Maintenance. It should be all you need.
  22. Like Tom stated check the plugs. If you replace them make sure you get the correct ones. Also check the plug wires. Are you running non ethanol 91 octane fresh gasoline?
  23. Is it possible that you took in water over the stern by shutting down too quickly? I've had a couple of boats that would do that if I pulled up too abruptly.
  24. If they are actually deleted then as far as I know they are gone. Do you have another unit networked with it?
  25. One thing that has not been mentioned is taxes. Don't forget state sales taxes and federal excise tax. They will come into play not only in product sales but also in record keeping. Here in MO when I looked into starting a bait company the government said I'd have to keep record of all customers and charge them sales tax which would have to be forwarded to the state. If you don't want this to become an overbearing burden for you, you will have to figure some kind of profit. Bait making is quite time consuming and takes a dedicated space or workshop. Good luck on your project.
