  1. Further North gave you some good advice. If you aren’t familiar with any brand check them out in person. The control functions are a lot different from brand to brand. I recently switched brands and am experiencing quite a learning curve.
  2. If all else fails you can put some teflon tape on the threads then put the cap back.
  3. This idea is the most weedless way I have ever used a tube. The problem I found is the weight some how gets in the way on hook set and lets the fish come unbuttoned.
  4. I traded up often until I got hold of a Curado E. I think I have 7 or 8 of them. They are great reels.
  5. I sometimes use Real Magic. I think it is silicone.
  6. I have a down imaging transducer on my trolling motor. Whether just running , on auto pilot or spot lock the image is fine. Side image is the one that goes nuts when the motor is swinging.

Does your school have fishing teams?
  8. For me in off colored water or low light conditions I generally put on a War Eagle bleeding shad or golden shiner spinner bait. They normally out produce my other colors in these situations. When I am seriously spinner baiting I have 3 to 4 different colors tied on. I alternate them until I find the best producer.
  9. Here is my biased opinion. Phoenix first Skeeter second ******** third ******** fourth
  10. A pop snagger will work. It is also a plier with line cutter along with hook sharpener and line threader. Mine never leaves the boat.
  11. Yes sorry for lack of info. I like it well enough that I have 3 of them.
  12. It will catch fish and some days it is the best color. However most of the time I catch more fish on other colors.
  13. In order to avoid this use needle nosed pliers or hemostats. Hold the jig by the hook eye while dipping and it won’t get any paint in the eye.
  14. I use a Shimano X70 on a Gloomis Bronzeback to cast light weights. 1/6 oz is dicey. It handles 3/32 pretty well and 1/8 just fine. 6# test fluorocarbon line is on the reel.
  15. 50-65# braid so you can throw it anywhere and still get it back.
  16. If you have the room to store it, don’t need the trade value and think you might use it then keep it. If it were me I would sell it to an individual instead of trading it in. Very few places will give you full trade value. Many will only give about 75% and some not that much and full trade value would still be lower than retail value. Good of luck with what ever you decide to do.
  17. There is no decent rod storage in a fish and ski plus the arrangements for a fishing partner suck.
  18. Depends on the brand. Lowrance———50/50 isopropyl alcohol and distilled water Humminbird——-Windex multi surface with vinegar
  19. Only for a year then you are basically on your own. Even those warranty items normally have to be ordered and you are out of a boat for no telling how long. The first year my boat set in the service lot waiting on one thing or another for weeks at a time.
  20. The list is long and boring. A few items : brakes locked up or bearings went out and ruined the axle, the charger quit, the cover did not last 6 months of easy use, the carpet is already needing replaced, etc.
  21. My favorite manufacturer is Ark Rod. They make rods for a lot of different companies, many of which are major brands.
  22. My main concern would be the transom. Make sure it is solid.
  23. I don’t have a Z18. I have a Z20 and wish that I didn’t.
  24. If your unit has an amplitude scope on the right of the screen that is the real time data.
  25. It looks like the Bass Pro double tail skirted grub in smoke with the skirt cut off.
