  1. What material is it, glass, aluminum???
  2. My boat weighs in at over 4500 lbs. I am looking for a 1/2 ton Chevy to tow it with. I am in hilly terrain. Most of the trucks on local lots have a 3.23 rear axle with a 5.3 liter engine. Do any of you have a similar weight boat and tow with a truck like that? I really don’t want to make a $40000 mistake.
  3. I only use one knot for all lines, the Pitzen.
  4. I’ve tried several brands. I’ve been using Seaguar red label for the last 3 years. It works for me. I only use 1 knot for all line to bait applications, the Pitzen or 16/20 as it is sometimes called.
  5. I fish it enough that I have 5 setups exclusively for that technique. I have tried several line types and sizes. I have found that 6# fluorocarbon gets me more bites than any other line. I use a mushroom head (Midwest Finesse) which I pour myself. I don’t use anything heavier than 1/8 oz. Most of the time I use 1/16 and will fish it out to 20 feet deep. I have the heads in hook sizes 2, 1, 1/0, and 2/0. I prefer the 1/0. There is no right or wrong way to fish it. There are just ways that work better than others in specific conditions. You have to experiment to see what is working the best. Most colors work. I like Alabama craw, green pumpkin, and yoga pants best. I’ll admit it catches a lot of small fish but it also catches some good ones. My best day on it was ( 2 of us had ) 65 bass with 16 keepers to 6.25#.
  6. That has been the accepted way since they started having card slots.
  7. Just pay more attention. Yoc can damage a rod and not even know it until it breaks.
  8. If you wet the carpet with lacquer thinner the glue will turn loose and the carpet comes off easily.
  9. I buy rain golf gloves and wear them most of the year.
  10. I got a Curado DC as a gift. I like it so well that I sold a Chronarch to make room for another DC.
  11. I don’t know how you boat fits on the roller. If it just comes up against it you may have an easy job. My bow goes up and over the roller and rests on it. I either had to off load the boat or use my jack.
  12. Cut into length, stuff with news paper, burn in fireplace next winter.
  13. That may be the case with your boat but it isn’t with mine.
  14. You might find a good buy on a unit that is a couple of years old by looking at the flea market forum.
  15. I have a floor jack. I put a 2x6 on top of the jack and lift the bow a couple of inches before I start.
  16. I have no experience with XL. The only other mono that I use is P line.
  17. Why? I tried 2 of them they on my motor. They didn’t make much of a difference.
  18. I have 3 spinning setups with it on them That is about all of the mono that I use.
  19. They are made in the USA. I was by the factory where they are made this afternoon.
  20. I clean with a Qtip, then a small dab of Ardent butter on each end and the middle.
  21. I like the overall size of the 2500 Shimano reels. I have 2 Stradics and 1 Symmetry in that size.

    Vise

I recommend that you get one that rotates. You can do a lot more a lot easier with it. I have a Dan Vice that I have been using for a long time. It has worked great. I have tied several thousand jigs with it.
  23. I have 4 Stradics. They are very good reels.
  24. I have several different brands made in Harrison AR.
