  1. I can see you waving to the camera. ?
  2. Don’t worry, spring is almost here. However, that’ll bring the “how much does this bass way” threads. ?
  3. Yak Trax are standard issue here at my company. The construction sites I’ve been to this week have been mud pits towards the end of the day. Mud Season is not pleasant that’s for sure. Not as bad anymore since we moved to the lake and a paved driveway.
  4. Maybe it’s just the picture, but Hackney looks like he’s not very tall.
  5. Our snow pack is down to about 8-10”, which is great. The only problem now is it starts to melt during the day then refreezes at night. What’s wrong with that you say? At work we walk through this stuff all day long and the refreezing creates a crust on top strong enough to hold your foot up until you put weight on it, then it gives way like a trap door. This makes walking extremely difficult and extremely slow! We went from 2 feet of fluffy powder snow to walk through and now with have 8 inches of crusty crap that’s just as bad! Hopefully it’s all gone by the end of the weekend.
  6. I figured being in Tennessee you would have a healthy stock of backwoods moonshine!
  7. Does aging it at sea do anything for it? Does the bottle give you a history of it’s travels? Pretty cool either way!
  8. I grew up in small town USA with a population of 700, our school was made up of three towns. I still live in one of them. I like living in the country, but I’m right there with you. The nice houses in the country are few and far between. I try not to judge people, because I’ve been poor through my 20’s, but it’s really not that hard to take care of things and keep them presentable. We moved to a lake. We’re fortunate that it’s not like most around here where you can reach out your window and shake your neighbors hand, but we don’t have sprawling lots either. It took my wife a bit to get used to having people so close and not having all the privacy we did at our old house. Once in a while I would take her down our old road in the country to remind her how our neighbors were....that seemed to speed up her process a bit. ?
  9. Saturday and Sunday are looking toasty (45 & 50*) with a nice breeze thrown in there. The overnight lows are still looking well below freezing which is a bummer, but still heading in the right direction. The extended forecast for what it’s worth shows some upper 50 to low 60* days and lows in the upper 30’s, but that’s two weeks out. Probably not going to make my enthusiastic goal (dam you February) but quite possibly mid March is a possibility.
  10. I did not know this, very good to know. One question though, who do we blame for our BR Flea Market purchases then? ?
  11. I was able to take a lunch and watch this for a bit. Pretty slow going, makes me feel better about my fishing though. ? 6poundbass had a snow day Monday and I put him on this. After watching for an hour he texted me and said it was boring. That’s what I was hoping for. He watches YouTube fishing shows, and TV fishing shows with me that are all edited and the comment was made last year about us not catching them like he sees on YouTube and TV. He didn’t fully grasp the editing thing, so Monday he saw first hand the magic of editing and real life. After watching them struggle Monday, hopefully he doesn’t think his dad is good enough to become a pro. ?
  12. That was pretty cool! It would be interesting to see where is goes and if it makes it all the way to us, how long it would take to get across the lake.
  13. It was absolutely awesome seeing zero clouds, seeing the snow melting, seeing, and most importantly feeling the sun! We have quite a ways to go before open water, but we’re heading in the right direction.
  14. 37 and sunny, I’m loving it. It’s breezy out but not the warm breeze we need to really ramp up the melting, but I’ll take what we get right now.
  15. It’s hot out! Melt baby, melt!
  16. Ned rig? ?
  17. There will be no better time for you to make your national television appearance. Make us proud. ?
  18. Supposed to get one inch over night......we ended up with 4. ?
  19. Today was the first day since February 4th we’ve been about 30. 1-2” overnight for us. After the snow tonight we’ll have had 30” of snow this month.
  20. If you’re throwing lures not meant for bass and catch a bass you’ll be fine. If you’re throwing bass lures you’ll have a hard time convincing a CO you’re not bass fishing.
  21. The warming trend here isn’t going to be as warm as predicted last week, but it’s still going to be above freezing. The overnight lows are still going to be pretty cold though.
  22. I want to get rid of Dish, but we only pay around $110/month (granted there are only about 4-5 channels we watch). We just use our phones for internet so if we cut Dish we’d need to get internet which is around $60/month then find what we want for streaming services. I am quite sick of paying all that money to watch just 4 or 5 channels and 3/4 the time there isn’t ? on those channels. I could watch YouTube and be content. Question: Do you need a smart TV to use streaming services? We don’t have a smart TV but it’s an updated TV that’s only 2 years old.
  23. How much snow do you guys have on the ground? We have about 18” in most spots. I hope the warm temps put a good hurting on the snow so the sun can get to that ice sooner than later. The overnight lows are still going to be pretty cold so the melt won’t be as fast as I’d like. Warm night, warm sunny windy days are on my wish list right about now.
  24. The skunk is a part of life here, I don’t let it get to me. I embrace the skunk, and welcome the skunk. I even thought about painting my boat black and white with the words ‘le pew’ in big letters across the transom!
  25. I have an Eagle 175, but my lakes are small so I don’t experience rough water. The worst I’ve been in was a windy day, on a holiday weekend, with all the boat traffic it got pretty “rough” for our area. I decided to see how she handled. It cut through the boat wakes, and waves pretty good and we stayed dry. I’m sure if this helps at all. I do know one thing, I sure wouldn’t take it out on the Great Lakes.
