  1. I have been reading up on rodbuilding and I have a question about getting started? Right now I plan on getting the Flex Coat DVD but will this DVD explain; guide size and spacing, wrapping, and the other basic stuff? I am looking at rod kits but do not like the components that come with them so is there somewhere that I can find out what I need for a 6'6" ML spinning rod? Final question, is there any rod builders that I can order the parts from? BTW: I checked out ReelMechs site and he has a lot of great stuff on there about rodbuilding! Allen

    easy molds

Home made molds do work but like anything else they take practice. I can create new baits out of clay(dollar store) then use that as a master for a mold. Allen
  3. That last time I check it was about $80 worth? Right now I am looking a charging my $15,000 kitchen remodel to get some serious points. Allen
  4. I have never had any fall out of the slots? I do shove buzzbaits in the spaces in front and behind the spinnerbaits though. Allen
  5. That looks like a tube in the pic? While I have not tried the craw worm yet I can tell you the jig trailer works very well. Allen
  6. The only one I can get to work is a Lunker lure one in white that I found about 3 years ago. I have a SK, Glamour shad and a couple others but the only one that seems to work is a white Lunker lure one that squeaks so bad it hurts my ears! Allen
  7. http://www.***.com/descpage-FTO701.html This is what I use and so far it works better than anything else I have used. Are you talking about bigmouth spinnerbaits or something else? Spinnerbaits are a PIA to store but I love fishing them so I had to find a way. Allen
  8. Since I quit my sport compact car hobby and focus completly on fishing I have a few baits? You may have a baitmonkey problem if you answer yes to any of the following questions: 1. You have more lures than you can physically carry. 2. You buy lures that you already have 3 or more of just in case they decide to quit making them. 3. You have any lures that had to be airmailed from Japan. 4. You have Japanese translation software so you can try to order more lures from Japan (Raul this one is probably you?) I will add to this list as things come to me. Allen
  9. Like someone said you are only going to use a small percentage of the lures you bring but I like to be prepared. I use a BPS tackle bag and will switch 3600 plano boxes our according to conditions. There were several days last year that I only fished the baits that were tied on my rods already. Allen
  10. I use the Falcon spinnerbait box and it is the best system yet for storing baits. Allen
  11. 5/16 Eakins with a smal craw trailer. Allen
  12. Step 1 is admitting you have a problem so I am not going to say or count. What I can tell you is at last count I had 42 of my favorite bandit crankbait (hey, they may stop making them so I stocked up) and 27 LC pointers in my favorite color. Allen
  13. Daiichi death traps I believe these are what come factory on LC baits. Allen
  14. I use a 2/0 trailer hook most of the time unless they are clobbering the bait or I am getting hung a lot. Allen
  15. Can you post the contact info for him? Allen
  16. Jigs and soft plastics= a lot Hardbaits I lost 5 or 6 last year and 1/2 of them were to tiger muskees >. After reading about how to unsnag a lure and buying a lure retriever I break mote baits than I lose. Allen
  17. Already have a few. Have you ever used the Staysee 80sp? Allen
  18. Try a small spinner and see what you catch? I used to live near a small stream like that but all I could catch were creek chubs. Allen
  19. shawncollinscustoms.com but be prepared to wait and a custom mold is $100+ but he does great work. Allen
  20. A white Roostertail spinner will catch anything that swims! Allen
  21. Where can I buy some? If they are suspending I need at least 4 from that chart. Suspending shad raps are an excellant spring and fall bait that can be fished like a deeper diving jerkbait. Allen
  22. From what I have seen a lot of hare jigs are fished without a trailer or if a trailer is used it is a small Uncle Josh. Allen
  23. How can you have just one favorite pointer? :-? Since I do a lot of SM fishing I use smaller baits than some of you. My list: Pointer 78sp- Ghost minnow, Pearl Ayu, Baitfish Silver Slender pointer 97mr- Ghost Minnow, Pearl Ayu, Kinkoro ayu Pointer 65sp- Ghost minnow, Baitfish Silver As you can see I only use a few colors of jerkbaits, I posted an article in on of these forums on the subject. Allen BTW: If anyone has a Slender Pointer 97mr in Baitfish Silver that they want to sell I will pay $25.
