  1. Agreed Allen
  2. I use a 6-9 or 7' MHF for mine, a MHMF of MHM crankbait rod is too slow and I lose fish. Allen
  3. My leader is shorter because I suck at braid to floro knots. Size 4.5 guides don't have a lot of room for knots. Allen
  4. Haven't tried yet, most of my fishing the last two years has been shallow river. Allen
  5. Just weighed two spinnerbaits in my weed scale. 3/8oz = .46oz 1/2oz= .71oz Allen
  6. Generally, a spinnerbait weighs about 40% more than the weight listed on the package. While there is no formal standard for making them all the best people designing baits use the same system. If a bait is listed as 1/2oz that is just the weight of the lead (or tungsten) itself which does not include blades, skirts, etc. I am willing to bet you can throw spinnerbaits on those rods without problems. Just try a 3/8oz average spinnerbait and see how it does. Parabolic rods the weight rating doesn't matter as must for me, I throw baits above and below the rating all the time. Allen
  7. This or a Slider head. Allen
  8. Caught 2 in Missouri and didn't know what they were until the Game Warden told me. Allen
  9. This is how I fish them and if I want a walk-the-dog popper I just use the LC Gunfish. As for how loud of a pop or splash you need to try different baits. Recently started fishing a Don Iovino popper (forget the name) which I would call a finesse popper. The bait splits water and works far better than my other ones in really clear, low, summer river conditions. Allen
  10. Sorted by floating and suspending then by running depth. Allen
  11. Hard or soft jerkbait? Allen
  12. I would start by increasing the angle from the head to the line tie. Look how low yours is compared to pictures of the other baits posted. What I think is happening is the drag created by that paddletail is too much for the bait to run correctly. Based on the picture that bait when reeled in will have; the blade arm rocking back and forth from blade just flapping, rear blade spinning inconsistently possibly being hit by the front blade? Bending the wire like the other baits posted here should fix the problem. Allen Allen
  13. Texas rigged smallie beaver is one of my top 5 baits. Allen
  14. Spacing is something you have to play with to see what works best for you. Blades too far forward will not run correctly and too close will hit each other. Generally, when you hold the bait by the line tie you don't want the front blade to be further up the wire than the head for double blades. Additionally, I don't like the loop where the swivel attaches the be past the hook. Colored blades just work sometimes when they don't want the reflective ones. White and chartreuse are what I use the most which match they skirt. Worth is the only company I know that makes the shallow cup blades. Not sure who sells them like Barlow's as they are hard to find. Allen
  15. Don't have a 1oz head that would work for this. Allen
  16. Some Titanium framed baits I made for someone recently. Allen

  19. Spinner Baits - Page 1 - KKJAPANLURE Try here and if you find the 2oz one let me know because I am looking. Allen

  22. Bass Pro Shops XPS Hook Weights | Bass Pro Shops Look at these I think they are what you are looking for. Allen
  23. So I have a local guy that wants me to make him some spinnerbaits for Sante Cooper that have a single large colorado. He said size 8 blades and when they came in these are huge. You could scoop ice cream with these blades! The heaviest head I have right now is 3/4oz and I don't think its heavy enough to support this size blade. Anyone ever make a bait with size 8 colorados and if so how did it run? It has rained for a week straight so everywhere I normally test baits is flooded out. Allen
  24. Finally kicked my jerkbait habit! I was spending $200-300 a year buying new JDM jerkbaits for about a decade. Starting to sell them off as I could never use them all in 2 lifetimes. Luckily for me some of the ones I bought 20 years ago are worth serious money. Got $225 for 2 straight eye Pro Blue Vision 110's from like 2002. Allen
