I have hunted hogs on Ft. Stewart and been to the Pass and Permit building.
If the pictures on the wall are any indication of what is swimming in those ponds, then an hour's drive should be well worth it on the right day.

There were quite a few areas that were closed when we were there and the areas that were open had been that way for months, leaving almost no huntable game in those zones. It all depends on where the Army is practicing at that given time. We were told that if you can hit it when the area is just opened up, it is like heaven. I am sure this translates into fishing as well...
