  1. I thought you were going to tell us you just got a job as the new "elf" ;D
  2. Illinois application process listed here: http://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=30370
  3. I can help with general disability questions as they are worded for Pennsylvania. I would assume that other states are similar. There is short/long term disability cash assistance available to individuals that meet certain criteria. This assistance is recouped by the state once (or if) ther person is approved for SSI/RSDI benefits. Medical benefits (Medicaid) accompany cash assistance and in my state, the benefits include doctor, hospital, scripts and vision/dental. I used to be the Disability Advocate liaison between our office and Social Security. PM if I can be of assistance. Wayne
  4. Hmmm, sounds like a great place to drag a Hudd through or jig a bluegill swimbait..... Yes, yes indeed.... ;D
  5. IIRC, it was a basstrix bait fry bluegill. Pretty sure.
  6. Dwight, we REALLY need to get together and fish sometime.... That is a horse!!
  7. If they killed everything that was somewhat deformed or "ugly," as you say, there would be far less people posting on BassResource.com. :-X ;D
  8. If it floats, I would say it should get bit. Might want to throw a couple more skirt strands into your mold for the legs. If you have too many, you could always thin them out later. Much easier to thin out than try and add some. I would also try and hide the hook shank a little more in the plastic, whether trying a new hook or moving it back. The way it sticks out now will catch on whatever cover you throw the bait into. These type of baits usually get thrown into some pretty nasty stuff, as you know.
  9. What exactly did you do to "make" this lure?
  10. Weightless trick worm or a Senko.
  11. http://www.***.com/descpageBSTARHARD-BSDC.html I have not held one of these baits, but it looks just like a DOA swimbait weight molded around the lip of the bait. Lip angle and length, line diameter, cast length and retrieval speed are all things you can alter dive depth with.
  12. Hey Sean....I'll bring the swimbaits!! Nice fish
  13. Fishing the weeds at the upper end? Roll a spinnerbait through there sometime, almost guaranteed to catch Picks all day long. Let me know if you want to hit that lake up again. Sucks walking up that hill, dont it? ;D
  14. Prednisone is a wonderful steroid. I have to take it when I get into the ivy. If I know I have been in/around it, I use a product called Tecnu (sp?). For those who do not know already, when you are taking a shower with the intent of washing off poison ivy oils, shower in the coldest water that you can tolerate. A hot shower might feel nice, but it also opens up your pores and allows the oils to get in. Cold water will keep them closed up.
  15. Kent, look at the 3:16 Hyper Herring. http://www.316lurecompany.com/baits/hh.html Has smallmouth written all over it.
  16. I would say that number might even be a little high. Ronnie and I brought the Bass Bus to Guntersville, towing Riskkid's boat and I think my total cost was around 600, including about 400 worth of gas. Last year, staying in the campground with Jimzee and Pitchinkid, my total cost was considerably less even after factoring in the food for the Chicken Dinner. I bet 450 would be enough for just about anyone to go on this trip, barring those flying in.
  17. Kent, registration is 50 this year.
  18. Yes, yes it was... ;D How much is that thing?
  19. The hits didn't look particularly vicious. It was almost as if the bass didn't want to eat it but instead were just curious about what the heck it was. Oh those hits were LMB at there best. Pure stealth. The biggest fish in Cali stalk topwater baits and slurp them rather than crush them. This bait is gonna get bit in a bad way, but I agree with Hawk about it's durability. I will just have to get one and see 8-) That will look "cute" hanging out of the pocket on your furry hoodie.... ;D
  20. No I was not catching them at the same time sampling was done. I agree with you too on the mystery aspect... the more I learn the more confused I get if that makes sense. That is what draws me to fishing though...because it is a huge puzzle and if you fish large tournaments there is always a big bag brought in. Someone always figures it out and fish will always eat something, somehow, somewhere. The hardships keep me interested in obtaining my goal of being consistent. Hopefully I find that same passion for research since that seems to be at the end of the road I am heading on. I am glad Gifford Pinchot State Park and I could assist you in your hardship and confusion last weekend!! ;D
  21. Well, Dan, he did say MUCH shorter.... ;D Maybe you could take up ice fishing?
  22. Frogtog isn't the type to throw you out there sarcastically. I believe he was actually congratulating you. Now, if Muddy had posted it......
  23. Sometimes, Yes When found in the same lake Millfoil starts growing in early spring and bass will move into it to find something to eat. As the spring turns to summer you will notice that the Hydrilla is growing a lot faster and taller than the millfoil and in some cases it will choke the millfoil out. As it heats up the water looses its ability to hold oxygen the Hydrilla, and what millfoil is left will be producing oxygen so the bass will move into it to stay alive. Whatever plant is producing the best oxygen and holding the most food will be holding the most bass. I won a late summer tournament with Senko77 a few years ago and the pattern was simple. I spent three days dragging a 1oz jig and pulling up Millfoil. Most of the Millfoil in the lake was dead but when I found a patch that was green the bass were stacked in there. I didn't need to catch a fish in practice to know where the fish would be during the tournament. I found four spots like this in my area of the lake and we ended up with a 25.8lb sack with a 9.98 kicker. 2nd place was 12+lbs. 9.98 ;D
  24. I'm not too sure either way... Do I think he is the next superstar? Of course not. But I do feel that if Bas Rutten has seen enough potential in him to be his coach, then he has as good a chance as anyone in the house. I know one thing, the person who beats him down will likely be a wrestler. He really looks well below average on his back. Both those guys that fought last night looked like slugs. Props to the dude who got beat b/c that was a nasty cut on his head. Still, neither impressed me with their dominance (or lack thereof).
  25. Thinner walls = more fragile. Pretty sure a L&T would handle getting "Iked" better than a Steez (or GLX, high end Croix, etc).
