  1. Gotta love that initial tea-bag as you go into 52 degree water... ;D
  2. Hahaha i always said that too but it was pretty cold this morning. Next time it happens (if it is warm enough to swim), cut your line off and tie it to a nearby tree. Go in after it, following the line down to the lure. Lure retriever isnt much good from the bank, but sometimes they work.
  3. I just recently (this year) got into waterfowl hunting, so I have been looking at semi's every time I am in an outdoor store. Hoping to have one before the end of the year so I can use it in the late season. We shall see. I would like to keep this gun for when a kid comes along. Good enough shotgun to start with, for sure.
  4. OK, to be clear on my end. Misfire (as I am referring to) is the shell not going off at all. The pin is, in fact, making a dent in the primer but is not making the shell go off. I have noticed that if I rack the slide forward with higher than normal force, the shells will typically shoot.
  5. Gotta love it. 19 years old and still blaming Mom for shtuff..... :
  6. Wiped down every other time I go out. Cleaned when about 2 boxes of shells have gone through it or about every time I go out in dove season. Duck season is here until Saturday and I am tired of my buddies having to swing past me b/c the gun misfires. Maybe I overlooked some build-up in the action? I dont know...
  7. I have a Mossberg 500 that I am having an irritating issue with. Quite often, the gun will misfire. This has happened with numerous ammo manufacturers, so I am confident that it is not the shells. Sometimes it will fire the first shot and when the second shot is loaded, it will misfire. Eject that shell and the third one will fire. It has happened in any sequence you can imagine as well (first shell misfire, second fire, etc.) Anyone know what it might be? Keep the "buy a Benelli" comments to yourself....
  8. Yep, ya had to go there this early in the morning..... ;D
  9. Matt, its amazing the therapy that fishing can provide. Hope all is well with your family.
  10. Glad to see you got bit on the swimbaits. You'll really like that JSJ floater, especially if you can find a school busting on the top. Great choice of color on the slammer too. Cant ever go wrong with black.
  11. Bass Resource Fight Club, anyone? ;D
  12. Gonna be cold this weekend. You ever seen the muskies in Pinchot?
  13. Obviously, I am not catching fish as big as the ones you have out there but I havent noticed an issue. I cant imagine the CXX without it. :-/ Didnt you break those off during your line experiment?
  14. Gonna melt? ;D
  15. They tried to pull that one with me too. Here is how you solve that problem... *** has a "over $50 = Free shipping" policy. If you go to customer service and quote this, they will match the internet price and not try to tack on the shipping charge. We all know how easy it is to amass $50 in baits at BPS, unfortunately... :-[ ;D
  16. Most major retailers will. I have done it at BPS before.
  17. POWER ARM FOR THE WIN!!!!!!! Gimme my lefties. ;D
  18. I would rather have the rod in my strong hand for hook-setting purposes. I am right handed. I can fish with both, but prefer left-handed reels. I dont care too much for the science or explanations behind it. I know what feels comfortable for me.
  19. CH51mg for lighter stuff. Revo STX for bigger stuff.
  20. I like the "grammer" title. ;D Definition must be "a person that grams"
  21. Whatever is in season.
  22. Lucky? I dont think so. Sure, there will likely be more limits weighed in, but those who are on good fish will still likely come in with the bigger bag. I wish I could get lucky every tournament and catch one big fish. You dont think the guys that are "good" get lucky sometimes? Oh, and Rejuvenade sucks. Use Catch and Release or Please Release Me by Surelife. Rejuvenade is basically speed for the fish, increasing delayed mortality. The Surelife products contain a sedative and slime coat protection. Thought ya might like to know...
  23. Mattlures Hardgill. Hell, buy two...
  24. Hardgill, yes. Soft, not yet. I typically use the soft gill as a bed fishing bait in the spring. Trust me, it will get a workout. I have a couple ideas for one lake in particular.
  25. I will throw either of them at any time of the year, but I feel the female BG closely resembles more panfish species at any given time of the year. Typically, Male BG swimbaits are painted to resemble a spawning male with more pronounced colors and shades. Most of the year, bluegill have a more subdued and plain look that is better represented by the female version.
