Unfortunately, I dont think the fish's health had anything to do with it. I believe it was just "kept." Got out last night and finally got my first confirmed hookup with a Potomac toothy. That lasted all of about .2 seconds, mostly due to me standing in awe of the silver streak demolishing my spinnerbait and my subsequent limp-wristed hookset. : There was another casualty last night, but was not caused by a fisherman. I witnessed a vicious attack by a very big musky on a 28" smaller fish. I hand fished the injured toothy and it looked like the pics you see of shark attack victims. Perfect mouth outline of the larger fish. I tried to revive the fish for 45 minutes, to no avail. The guy I was fishing with took it home to eat. I think I could really get into this...

Cancelled last evening, meeting tonight at 8pm. Saw pics of a 45" caught from there the other night. Fish did not make it, unfortunately.

Ammo will be the cause of 99% of your problems with semi 22's. Bulk pack ammo, while nice and cheap, is sometimes just that. Cheap. You will get batches of under-powered 22 rounds in the bulk packs. That is the trade-off with the rounds costing a bit more money (Remington 525 pack vs CCI 50 pack). Swab the barrel every 100-200 rounds and clean it well at the end of the day. Most, if not all, of the guns mentioned in this thread will perform well for you. Personally, I like Burley's suggestion. Gives you more options for when you want to shoot with the big boys.

Any thoughts on this lake? A buddy of mine apparently just drove by it and said it looked like it had potential. In a brief research on the lake, MD DNR claims that 10lb fish have come out of it. What do you guys think?

Mapquest puts me a little under 1.5 hours away, 75 miles. That is a hop, skip and jump compared to some of the lakes I have traveled to. I have heard good things about Little Seneca. It is now on the list.

Two weeks ago, I caught a smallmouth down there that would have gone 6+ in the spring. Very large framed fish that was still pushing 5.

Let them catch some fish and build their confidence. At that point, we can challenge them to a small tournament (ala Duke) and take them for all they are worth.

If you know of trolling motor only lakes where I dont need a special permit (Prettyboy and Baltimore lakes), I am game to bring the boat down with me. It's a 16ft Tracker Jon boat, very wide. 70lb up front and 55 on the back. Nate, I dont put a boat on the Pmac. All wading for me.

Are you sure you are missing fish and not bumping into cover/structure? That is a relatively small bait and in my experience, they engulf it. There is no missing the fish...

Pumpkin blue or Green Pumpkin blue? If the latter, call Tommy and tell him to search PC for 004239. Nah, it's the Pumpkin Blue, color 011. They have it listed on the Zoom site as a special distribution color. I found three packs on flea bay a couple months ago but further searching has been fruitless.

Was he wearing a bullet-proof vest? Was his name Lloyd? Negative. Twas a good shot though. Took his teeth and pushed them through the back of his head. Those little 22WM HP rounds are nasty for close quarter combat.

How about the Bass Pro Extreme rods? They are around $100 and many times they are around $70.
