  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AChK4jBkxs0 Top three most played song on my playlist this week.
  2. I love mine clipless. It's a lot easier to eject than it looks. I think I finally found the perfect shock setting. It has no bob when I'm pedaling and it engage just perfect when I hit a root or billygoating over a rock. I've been fiddling with it all day.
  3. x2 I've had quite a few endo and washout myself. Including busting mine helmet. Don't be afraid to use the front brakes. Most guys would put two fingers on rear brakes and one on the front. Of course with V-brakes it might be three on rear and two on the front. This prevent too much stoppage on front to keep you from flipping. The front brakes will give you about 80% of your stopping power. I usually use one finger on each or two on rear and one in front. As you build your confidence up and such you will be able to ride without dragging your brakes.
  4. All of mine rods are 1 piece..If I had a two piece I could get a rod tube and throw it on my shoulder and fish along the bank of the trails I ride. There's couple state parks in area that got bike trails along the lake. It be easier to fish that way off the bank than standing around boat ramp with bunch of other people. After I build up my cash again maybe I'll get a two piece rod and a rod tube for it. Jaheff, Yeah, it going be interesting. ;D Next thing I got to do is get renter insurance and car insurance to cover mine bike against theft.
  5. On and off since Tuesday. It be light rain, stop, pour, stop, light rain, stop, pour, etc. It would probably stop raining for about 5 minutes then continue. I haven't seen the sunshine since Tuesday morning.
  6. Speaking of tough schedule, Tennessee is trying get out of playing UNC next year because it's such a "tough" stretch. LOL.
  7. I bought the bike. I'm putting this pedal on it:http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/13251-240_CRBCC4-3-parts-65-Pedals/Mountain/Crank-Brothers-Candy-C-Pedals.htm I'm also getting new shoes with the bike as part of a package deal the owner of shop is giving me. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the pedal above, I'll be clipped into the pedal. In another word, if I turn a corner and get wash out and cannot unclip myself, I'll be in the hospital with a ankle, leg, hip, or shoulder problem. Sketchy at its finest. ;D
  8. Did anyone watch the Alabama training day on ESPNU? I think it will reaired at 8pm on ESPN tomorrow night.
  9. Speaking of Les Miles: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/preview10/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=5473016
  10. I took this bad boy for a test ride today before the storm. It's a sweet bike, but not sure if I'm buy it yet. Got really good hydraulic disc brakes, rear derailleur made out of carbon, and is a really good quality built. I'm still tinkering with the rear shock setting to perfect it. Tough decision on whether to buy or not. :-/. Edit: If I do buy it, I will not be using platform pedals. lol. I'll add the clipless pedals to it.
  11. I just beat the rain at the park while riding bike. ;D If I'm not mistaken they are suppose to be scattered storms, so it won't storm/rain all day.
  12. I said "just kidding" after the Cootie Brown suggestion. LOL. ;D
  13. As of now, Papa John with the meat lover and garlic sauce. mmmhmmm. I like to get Little Caesar and their cheesybread. Good party food. Cheap too.
  14. Two of Alabama's QBs threw combine 8 touchdown in the scrimmage. We're screwed defensively in the secondary....
  15. Oh yeah, Waffle House! I'm sure you already ate at one somewhere in the south...If not, check it out. Lot of good times spent at the Waffle House.
  16. Cootie Browns. lol. just kidding. It an alright place to eat. Burley has a good list. I highly recommended Pals too. Strawberry milkshake, frenchie fries, and a big pal with cheese. For breakfast a country ham, cheddar round, and peachie tea. There's one on Bristol highway heading towards Johnson City from the racetrack. Zaxby has my heart as far as chicken restaurant is concern. They got good grilled chicken salad, wings, and chicken finger dipped in Zax's sauce....I eat there at least once a week. Doesn't help when there's one within walking distance and biking distance from my apartment. There also a Pals across from campus.. Edit: Burley, have you ate at the Mellow Mushroom? I heard it was good, plus they got lot of variety of beers on tap.
  17. They have a Raleigh for rent here at the ETSU's gym. I never rode it or fiddle with it. Rockshox is a good brand. It usually either Fox or Rockshox. What the rest of the spec like? Come on down to Tennessee we'll ride some fun trail and do some fishing. I know a guy that carries a tube with his rod broken down in the tube, he'll ride his bike through trails then stop at a stream and do some trout fishing.
  18. When you find the bike you like, wait til you get on the trails. That where it gets really fun. I was flying through tight corners and narrow path the other day and I came around a corner only to see 4 hikers and slammed the daylight out of my brakes. Lets just say the hikers were more scared than I was and told me to "slow down." I'm still looking for speed limit sign. ;D ;D I didn't say anything to them I just nod at them and tried regain my speed and momentum. That the thing about riding bikes, you gotta keep your eyes fixed down the trails.
  19. You can keep on believing that you're right, but you're not. I'm done going over the same points and just getting the same replies. Posting defintions from a dictionary is not proving your point. Cash in the bank or in short term investments is current assets. Your house should not be considered a current asset. You may not be able to sell it quickly enough, you may not be able to get a line of credit, it may drastically fall in value, in order to sell it quickly you may have to sell it for signficantly lower than it's actual value etc, etc, etc. Feel free to have the last word. ;D To be fair, accounting definition can be very misleading for someone who is new or doesn't have any previous experience in the subject. ;D I got misled once or twice on a quiz, but I got similar questions right on the test. It takes patience.
  20. Your house would be classify as plant asset. Current asset is define as anything converted into cash within a year such as: Inventory, Marketable Security, Account Receivable, and errr I think that it. That what I was taught. Your house wouldn't qualify as current asset. It cannot always be liquid fast...See today's market...The house next door to my parents took 9 months to sale only for it to be sold to another investor who trying to sell the house for a profit...The house has been empty for a year. I keep my personal finance same as if it was a business. Much easier to comprehend. Edit: Whoops, I forgot to add Cash to my list of current assets above. hehe. ;D
  21. If he a licensed business you ought to report him to the better business bureau.. Hurt his rep.
  22. I'm a regular here also: http://forums.mtbr.com/
  23. Guys that I know that race, ride hardtail because it faster and they rarely used lockout on the fork. Hardtail bikes are faster than full-suspension, but you be fine with either Specialized or Felt. Ride them both if you can then make a decision base on that. Let us know what you decide to do.
  24. Grrr.. you are still not getting across the point, you are saying something totally different. Hookem and I cannot pay for graduate school in full cash. In two years I'll be in graduate school, even if I can get a part-time job working in fast food or something I still couldn't pay for it in full..It not possible without a loan. I could survive paying rents on my apartment without a loan. My scholarship contract expires when I graduate with a bachelor. It is unknown if I'll get a graduate scholarship. I cannot bet that I'm get a full-ride or tuition paid scholarship in graduate school. I must be prepare for every scenario. What the best way to get a cheap loan? Good credit score. How do we do that? Exactly what been mention in many previous posts..Specifically buying small crap and paying it in full and what not.. So, now do you understand? I have a brokerage account and I'm currently building wealth, but I still need a reliable line of credit and a good credit score as a last ditch effort.
  25. I didn't want to get into this, but you are saying irrelevant thing and not getting the point of this post... Age difference...Hookem is probably 19-20 years old. You are probably 60-70. He doesn't have a million dollars laying around to pay for graduate school, a house, etc. You probably do, congratulation. Nobody cares. I'm betting you took out a mortgage years ago or some type of loan and found a way pay it off... My dad used a credit card as an emergency when my truck needed repair, he used the credit card because his debit card was being used to pay bills that week and house payment. His next paycheck he paid off the credit card bill. There nothing wrong with credit along as you know you got make it a 1st priority to pay it off. If you used the credit card, you got to realized you cannot go out and spend money loosely on wanted goods. That how people build debts. I have a credit card in my mother's name, and I'm a college student and have yet to pay any interest on it... I got a subsidized loan from the government to pay for my apartment, but the loan is small which is what I wanted. By the time I graduate with a bachelor my student loan be under 8 grands.Plus graduate school, but I could pay this off real fast if I don't buy a car or a boat after college immediately. I already have a saving account to pay off principle of my loan. That account is solely for paying back the government after my education is completed. Hookem, is not going graduate from college and buy a $1,000,000 house and pay it off on the spot. I'm sure when he your age his house, boat, car, and loan all be paid for.....And everything after tax will be 100% his....
