  1. What I'm thinking. Where's the pics?
  2. Hydraulic brakes. I'm almost positive I saw a wire coming out of your brake pad housing and assumed it was mechanical brakes. You mention you only ride on the road, so mechanical brakes suits you just fine and dandy. I loved the hydraulic as well as many other "hardcore" mountain bikers because it's very sensitive to touch. In another word, we can ride down technical paths using one finger to come to a complete stop if necessary while keeping more fingers on the handlebars. I'm very spoiled by the hydraulic brakes, they're easy on the finger. When I get a road bike, it'll take me time to get used to squeezing the cables on the V brakes.
  3. I ran 2.5 miles then biked another 10 miles at 4:30pm this afternoon in Northeast Tennessee. Stop complaining and hydrate. :D
  4. I want to see that Solantic is ineligible for government contract...With my own eyes or at least a credible source such as the law itself specifying which company gets the contract.
  5. Everybody that uses this forum ought to be drug tested. We've seen some odd posts on here..Remember that post by Bassclary about life? :D :D
  6. You could always consult with a financial advisor to help set you up with retirement funds. I've known people whose employers never contributed to their retirement or kid's college funds and they still did well for themselves down the road. They have college funds that are tax exempted. There has to be a financial advisor in your area that is good at what he does in terms of helping you plan out your budget and retirement. He or she may change your life. It's worth a look into.
  7. My cousin just got out of trade school for his HVAC and he works in the Tuscaloosa area. He worked 70 hours when the tornado hit Tuscaloosa. He left that factory after 2-3 months because a yacht club offered him a position with slightly more pay and better benefits. That is pretty much all I know about his job. lol. He said he was getting crazy hours at the factory where he started working. He told me the yacht club offered him 40 hours a week with better benefits. I cannot imagine a yacht club being more hectic than the factory he was working at. lol.
  8. Looks like Pyror is out too.
  9. I only see high end coil shocks on downhill bikes. I never see 'em on cross country bikes in this area. I've never ridden one, but I like my shocks.
  10. Does the 4th Amendment still applies in Florida? That's all I'm saying. Also, ditto on what J. Francho said. Unless Florida got a state run welfare that I don't know about.
  11. Someone gave me a negative rep on my first post on this thread? If it had to do with price of the bike..It amazes me how people that don't ride thinks these prices are outrageous when they're no different than any other hobby..Especially when they have never ridden a bike to tell the different between prices... Fish Chris, nice bike, but for 5 grands you won't see a bike with mechanical brakes nor coil type shocks. At least I haven't. Pretty much every high dollar bikes has similar features, but you're buying the components. It kind of like fishing where every baits, rods, reels, are all different. Bike components are the same way. I don't buy Shimano for fishing and I don't buy it for biking either. :D There are no Shimano on the new bike except the hub, which totally baffles me. Tell me if this makes sense, Haro put Sram products on the drive train, shifters, and brakes. Then they put a Shimano hub on it..Really? lol. Oh well. I guess the manufacturers aren't brand snobs when it comes to putting components on their bikes. lol.
  12. http://www.mtbr.com/cat/bikes/xc-suspensio/haro/shift-r7/prd_436807_1526crx.aspx Same spec as listed on the site. I have this pedal on it: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail.htm?stylePkey=21114 From my understanding, Haro only made this model for one year. It a special bike. I still have my hardtail, but I destroyed the drive train. When I get out of college I'm strip it to the frame and rebuild it so I can have a really good hardtail and a full-suspension. I want a road bike too. After I get the road bike and fix up the other bike I will have three quality bikes and it will be all I need. I'll just update or replace parts when necessary. The other day my roommate and I were riding the ETSU Trail System (my school got a wooded area next to campus which the bike club carved out a 6 mile bike trail) and he hit a rock the wrong way went off his bike and whack his body into a tree. Left a nice lump on his forearm. lol. Funny stuff. This trail system was created with imagination, I don't believe anybody in the bike club goes to class. They just dream about their ideal trail and go create it. It got some crazy man made obstacles and it's a lot of fun to ride. 2,300 feet of climbing within half mile to a mile if you take it counter clockwise. It's really a lot of fun and the best part, it's right next to my apartment. I don't have to gas up the SUV when I want go to the park for a ride everyday.
  13. I want to buy one and put it on a mountain or on the side of a lake somewhere. http://blueridgeyurts.com/index.php
  14. I can see it. First Groupon, Soon to be Facebook, and now Bass Resource. Long as you save a few shares for me. :D
  15. I have a $2,000 mountain bike...
  16. I believe the fans of Cleveland are cry babies. They're probably worse than LSU fans. Maybe. I've been to Miami. South Beach is decent. I only say that because when I was there the boobies weren't that great. I got set up for disappointment.
  17. Let me give you high school kids some unsolicited advice here. If you aren't planning on going to college, don't read any further. Lot of kids that graduated from high school with high GPAs went on to college only to struggle during their first year. Hell, I know kids I graduated from high school with that had 3.5-4.0 and flunked out of UT. They had to retake courses at junior college. I don't know if they are still in JUCO, but it wasn't pretty. Of course some of them were uptight and didn't have fun in high school. Then they went off to college on their own and discovered alcohol and all of the fun things you can have without clothes on. That is the leading cause of failure among incoming freshmen. In my opinion. It didn't happen to everybody, but it happens to more people than it should. My point? Don't let it happen to you. Once your GPA in college gets ruined, it's very hard to get it back up and it's an expensive process. I made a 3.5 GPA last semester and I still have an overall GPA of 3.25. It probably won't get me any scholarship for graduate school. Oh well...Freaking biology, calculus, literature, and English. :D
  18. Does anyone else thinks the clouds look like the clouds from the movie Independence Day when the aliens came through the atmosphere?
  19. The first one, isn't it some Hawaiian burger joint?
  20. Don't poke the bear, you'll get ban.
  21. I'll tell you what, if someone walks into my office with box full of receipts, 10 of 12 bank statements, and two empty cigarette packs, I'll send him to your office while I go fishing.
  22. Try taking it in the summer where the class is three weeks long five days a week for 4 hours. We had a test yesterday, another on Friday, then next week we got tax return project due and a final exam then the class is over. The tax return project has 4 pages worth of financial information that has to go on tax return forms.....We got three weeks to complete it. It's pretty ridiculous. Oh well. Also, the professor finally said something funnier.."If you walk out of this classroom today and discover $100 on the floor, it's reported as gross income. Since I doubt anyone in here will do that we will not discuss asset discovery tax any further."
  23. Tyrius, I found your proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_CbuQKT8SU
  24. In another word, for every dollar of revenue 9 cents is profit. Jfriendva, The profit margin is after salary and compensation. Salary expenses are deducted to arrive at their taxable income too. Profit margin is for stock valuation purpose, but managers inside the firm will use them too to measure performance. I don't feel like it, but Exxon Mobile stock ticker is XOM I think? In the income statement under Operating Expenses you should find an account titled "Selling, General, and Administrative expense" or something along that line. Usually executives salaries are listed under there. But don't assume that number is entirely made up of salaries. Advertising expense and other craps are lump sum with salary in that account too. Edit: Almost forgot, I hear you on the sacrifice part. Oh well.
