  1. THE GOAT Bubba and Billy Bob, two guys from Kentucky, are out hunting. As they are walking along they come upon a huge hole in the ground. They approach it and are amazed by the size of it. Bubba says "Wow, that's some hole; I can't even see the bottom. I wonder how deep it is." Billy Bob says" I don't know, let's throw something down there and listen so we can tell how long it takes to hit bottom." Bubba says "There's this old car transmission here, give me a hand and we'll throw it in and see". So they pick it up and carry it over, and count one and two and three and throw it in the hole. They are standing there listening and looking over the edge and they hear a rustling in the brush behind them. As they turn around they see a goat come crashing through the brush, run up to the hole and with no hesitation jump in head first. While they are standing there looking at each other and looking in the hole and trying to figure out what that was all about, an old farmer walks up. "Say there", says the farmer, "you fellers didn't happen to see my goat around here anywhere, did you?" Billy Bob says " Funny you should ask, but we were just standing here a minute ago and a goat came running out of them thar bushes doin' about a hunert miles an hour and jumped headfirst into this hole here!" The old farmer said "Why that's impossible, I had him chained to a transmission!"
  2. At least you guys will get a huge chunk of your defense back and all of your running backs, right? Meanwhile, we got replace a lot of people on defense, and find a new offense coordinator. Might as well enjoy the fun, because next season going to be dreadful with growing pain.
  3. Says who? There no rules saying a team who didn't win their conference couldn't play for a title. How hard is it to grasp that? That what rules is. They didn't make it up on a whim, it always been that way. This is just first time it has happen, I think?
  4. Alabama's identity is to win with stifling defense and game controlling offense. Always has been, always will be. The way Alabama's linebackers dominated the game and the corners shut down the WRs from getting open, it hard to believe Oklahoma State would have a game against us...Not to mention their defense is no were near the caliber of LSU, so we'll be fine moving the ball and scoring on them. Let the hate fest begins. And I find it hilarious how in 2008 the SEC wanted a plus-1 system and EVERY major conference said no. Today, they want changes. LOL. aahahahahahaha. Remember, if you're outside the SEC, your conference's commissioner is the reason why OSU didn't play in the title game. I didn't care if Alabama played Stanford, Michigan, or whoever else, but since sportwriters' votes put us in the title game, I just roll with it.

  6. Best of luck. Just one word of advice, don't try to be that "know it all guy" like that one older gentlemen in one of my accounting case study. (tried to tell me I'm wrong, when the professor later said I was right) Nothing to be nervous about, in my experience younger and older crowd has got along in class except one occasion that I mention. Follow professors' instructions and you'll be fine.
  7. I'm just glad I don't go to UT. The newly elected governor of Tennessee cut spending on education and it generally only impacted UT which sent tuition up 12% from the previous semester. That a hefty increase from one semester to the next. Well, it wouldn't affect me anyway since my tuition paid for by a third party. I just feel a huge chunk of students don't get the right information to make their decision to go to college. I don't feel I was prepare for college. I also feel I didn't receive the reality of what was going to happened once I arrive on campus. It was nothing like I was expecting. My first year was horrible, but after that I started making As and Bs on a regular basis. At 18, I knew what to expect in the real world more than college. I do have a job interview lined up in late March or early April. It with a company I've already worked for as a merchandiser. Except I'll be hoping get on with them in the controller training program and prove my worthiness and hopefully take over all of the financial operation of a particular bakery within 1-2 years.
  8. Here, I'm a member of Beta Alpha Psi:http://www.bap.org/ at a really, really good business program.http://business.etsu...creditation.htm. I only had two professors in the business department I had trouble with, one that I started a thread about and another I just simply couldn't understand him due to his accent. Is that positive enough?
  9. I didn't say I agreed with all of it, just " a lot". How am I whining about school in this post? This article was passed to me and I just simply read it and thought most of was pretty interesting.(I don't find the studying parts interesting, that just individual problems.) I especially like the part about high school guidance counselor. It's practically true. Least my guidance counselor never encourage me to explore trade school which could have gotten me a good job. (not that I probably would have gone, but still.) All they ever do is tell you need to go to college or you will be a failure to society. Unless that just my experience? I also know plenty of people with college education working as a server for $2.15 an hour, cashier in retail stores, and other minimum wage job while bogged down with student loan. Simply because they couldn't afford to move to another area after college to find a job. They also couldn't get jobs because there were no entry level position available and other areas wanted people with experience. I don't give a rat arse about the author's take on how much studying students do, party, etc. I just thought the job and loan parts were interesting. I'm pretty sure I've only started one thread that was "negative" about my education and that was directly to one professor who doesn't need to be teaching. (in my opinion of course.) If I really hated my education experience I would have already dropped out by now, but instead I'm 5 classes short of graduating in May. Textbook threads don't count as negative attitude towards my education.
  10. I agree with a lot of what the author is saying. http://theeconomicco...oing-to-college
  11. How come this isn't reported on NFL.com or ESPN.com? You would think this would be a bigger news and reported on multiple sources. This is definitely public information that Nike needs to release and it not even on their site, ESPN, nor NFL.... Strange.
  12. I have similar problem. I Google something, and the link will show bassproshop.com for instance, and I'll click on it and get redirected to something else. In most cases, that other page is a virus. If I get that virus my Malwarebyte will find it and clear it up. But I cannot find that redirect virus for the life of me. So, I started doing some Google and found a website I went to a year ago when I got a nasty virus and I downloaded a couple scans that worked like a charm. Anyway, I discovered this thread: http://www.bleepingc...opic435242.html I'm try it out today at some point.
  13. I'm playing it on the 360.
  14. AT&T and T-Mobile's market share would have been bigger than all the other companies combined.
  15. A lot of analysts saw it coming from the get-go. AT&T thought they could get away with it. Anyway, we're only paying $120 a month for three phones. We have unlimited text and media messaging on all three phones. One of the phone has unlimited data which is my droid. We have Verizon. It is far more economical for us to stay with Verizon than it is with T-Mobile and AT&T for the same features. I'm fairly certain the price of plans can vary base on location...I was told by a friend the other day that Verizon in this area no longer carry unlimited data.
  16. I went on my first duck hunting trip this past weekend at Lake Guntersville. We saw A LOT, I mean A LOT of ducks, but we could never get them in range. We talked to the park ranger at the state park where we was staying and he said there been a lot of hunters out there this season. My theory is with weather remaining steady and ducks are staying in the area longer are accustom to the duck calls? We had decoys out and my cousin would call them every so often, but they wouldn't budge. They be floating on the lake well out of shotgun range or flying overhead out of range and just simply ignored the call..What gives?!?!? ha. I really wanted to shoot my first duck, but I rather see hundreds of ducks than no ducks at all. Maybe next time.
  17. Battery life sucks on smartphones.....I hate mine.
  18. 2011 hasn't been kind for dictators.
  19. It wasn't his numbers or play-making ability. Cannot denied that. It was the fact he got suspended during the season that I disagree with selecting him for the Heisman. It my personal opinion that any player who serve a suspension during the season to not win the Heisman. Are they really an outstanding player if they violated team rules? Outstanding player to me means being a good sports on and off the field while sparking his team to victory. I'm sure some player in the past won a Heisman while serving a one game suspension, but I have no vote in the Heisman. lol.
  20. I believe the buyer will allocate the excess of fair value to goodwill. (accounting final overload...)
  21. As long as the Honey Badger didn't win, the correct choice was made.
  22. There are extra security measures you can take if you use your card to make online purchases. But if you buy in-store, then you hope to god there are honest employees protecting your information. LOL. Here a link for you guys to take extra security measure for purchasing things online. http://consumerist.com/2007/11/shop-online-safely-with-temporary-credit-cards.html I first heard of this in my accounting class and I'm starting to explore these options for myself since I tend to buy online a lot. If my information got stolen, well, it'll be fake.
  23. The "Alabama didn't win their conference, therefore shouldn't be in the BCS" argument is kind of dumb. The BCS rules stated #1 and #2 is to play in the title game. They never added an exception about #1 and #2 being in the same conference.(obviously they didn't believe it was a big deal.) If Michigan was #2 in 2006, we would have saw a rematch of two teams from same conference. Saban wasn't the only coach that left OSU at #4 or lower... The BCS does have human factors into it. It not a perfect system and it what we have in place, so really the only arguments I want to read or hear is about how to change the system rather than hearing someone complain about them being from same conference for this game. I believe that rule can never be change, because it's possible for the two best teams to reside in the same conference and the same division. If it was two other teams from same conference playing in the same game this year, I wouldn't be complaining. Does the FBS system have more colleges than the lower leagues? That might explain why there a lack of playoff. the SEC has advocate a change in the BCS before, but some other conferences were against it. I'm not going to mention names, but I bet one of those conference is now crying foul about the BCS now when he was against any changes years ago.... Hey, the current SEC commissioner tried to change the system years ago, don't blame the SEC: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=3375611&sportCat=ncf
  24. I believe Alabama and LSU will both steamrolled OSU....Alabama is the ONLY team in the country that can beat LSU. The BCS wants to put the top two ranked team in the national championship, it never mention anything about conference titles. The chip fell where they fell. Even if OSU went to title game and got steamrolled and Alabama squash whoever it is they play, we'll still be left debating who better between Alabama and LSU. It hard for me to grasp that OSU can beat LSU and Alabama. We've seen this show too many times where a high powered offense faltered in the title game against an SEC defense. Alabama had LSU on the rope and didn't play their best with all the penalties and missed kicks, but that the past. (in fact, no one has came closed to beating LSU like Alabama did. Unless you want to count Miss. State.)
  25. You will eventually get tired of it. I played it all last semester in class. I haven't touch it since a backpacking trip in October when I couldn't sleep due to 60 MPH wind.
