Let me clear something up, I had bone graft surgery last December. They cut a bone out of my hip, cut leg up and it left a gap between my fibula and knee cap. The bone from my hip went between that gap, then a plate was inserted to hold it in place. I now have bone cement (from my first knee surgery when I was 12, now 22), a plate and 4 screws in my leg. I've been released from my doctor's care a couple weeks go. Free to do however I feel I can do. I've rode 10 miles of mountain biking a couple times this month already. Occasionally I'll feel sore and will not ride for day or three and the pain would go away and I'll ride again without feeling pain after that ride. So, I haven't develop a pattern of what makes my pain comes back. My doctor said for me to quit doing things if I'm in pain, if it persist for a week call him back.
Basically, I was wondering what over counter pain reliever work best when I have pain at night or something, but yes if it persistent for a week I'm calling him back. It has yet to do that and hopefully never will. I really don't want go back under the knife or go through that crap again. I managed to get through the last few months dealing with my leg and got out of my final semester of college with a 3.0. Screw that, never again! I may just stick to booze. Just enough to numb it. ha.
