  1. Looks lean but not undernourished.
  2. Thanks. Yeah, it was around 20 mph yesterday. Didn't go out in the boat.
  3. Dang. Think I'll start making custom flyrods.
  4. I forgot the plug a couple times, and did a Bill dance imitation with the trolling motor coming off the transom when I had it on full speed. I danced ( literally ) with it for what seemed like a long time and finally got it under control. Another time me and a friend went fishing several miles downstream from our camp spot on the Ocklawaha river. When we went to start back , the motor wouldn't crank. We ended up paddling against the current for several hours to finally get back to the camp at midnight or so. Also have broke down on the west side of Lake George ( 2nd biggest lake in Fl. ) and we had to troll back to the camp on the east side . It seemed like we were running in place with the big swells out there. Another time my Jon boat sank when I had a rather large friend with me one day. We were only a few hundred pounds over the coast guard safety rating !! The security guard there asked us to leave as the boat sank right as we made it to shore!
  5. 350.00 seems kind of expensive to me but what do I know?
  6. I've had a few setbacks this week fishing . I lost a huge bass the other night ( don't want to share what happened yet ). So Today I cast my new favorite spinnerbait, had it literally inches from pulling it out of the water and a big fish came up and swallowd it , and it surprised me so much I didn't respond properly and ended up breaking the line. NOOO ! SO I quickly caught a little bream, and hooked it on in an attempt to catch the bass and recover the spinnerbait, and ended up with this 5 pound 11 oz fish but no spinnerbait. The fish was another 23 incher.
  7. Can't help you much with hair issues ! I have less and less experience with that everyday ! About the only time I don't wear a hat is at church. If I don't, I get a sunburnt head. One of my son's nicknames for me for awhile was " Balto " if that tells you anything.
  8. I do best with them with what we call wigglers . They are our common earthworms here. A big one is 3-4 inch. I hook em twice and use a #6 bronze light wire hook with a small split shot about 6 inches up. Believe it or not, I caught my biggest one ( 11.5 inches long , and 11 inch girth ) on a mashed bread ball on a bed the fish was on.
  9. Welcome to the forums. My wife's from Richmond, and I have some NC roots . Can't help you much with the fishing there though. @Sam should be along soon. If I was in Richmond Id look him up. Tight lines !
  10. BIG TIME! We just had our spring game sat. and 53000 + showed up.
  11. Got that right!
  12. @TnRiver46 Just to set the record straight, we stunk last year too. I really don't hate Tennessee or any other team. There are an equal amount of horrendous plays we made last year. I actually have watched The Vols fan base stick it out with the lackluster results lately. Trust me, I know the feeling. As far as Georgia goes, we had beat them several years in a row, so they were due to win one eventually...?
  13. How bout this one?
  14. I have secretly enjoyed that for years with the Gators vrs Tennessee, and Kentucky, in football. It's like there is no way they will come back and win, but in the last few seconds the Gators somehow pull it off , or the vols or wildcats find a way to lose. This year was another prime example. It's kind of strange, because I don't think I can name 5 people from either one of those states that I don't like. I think with Tennessee it really started for me when lane kiffin was there and acting like he usually does. I love the state and the people but really dont care for the vols.( although I love Rocky top ) The team I really grew up hating Was the Miami hurricanes, but that's a whole 'nuther story! But I know there's a lot of Gator haters out there too. I think every school has a number of spoiled and obnoxious fans . Especially Bama.
  15. Lol !!!?
  16. It went well ( literally ) and went well and went well..... The actual procedure couldn't have gone any better. They said no polyps and it's good for 10 years. I felt 10 pounds lighter until I ate all those french fries yesterday.? Thanks for askin' !
  17. Tried scheduling my blood work. Automated ?. After trying several times, I finally did everything right. Went happily to the appt. , and found out that I needed to fast first ( I hadn't ) When I tried to ask an employee if it mattered, I got the feeling she had never spoken to a client before. So I had to reschedule. Took me 6 times trying again to finally reschedule. Now if I can just remember to fast before I go this time!!!? I can assure you that one automated scheduling system does NOT fit all !
  18. I agree there are a lot of tools out there you need to fix a car. But to catch a bass my go to bait goes back and forth between a zoom super fluke and a 4 inch senko.( This is based on where I fish primarily ) ? In all seriousness, I have a " Circle of trust", which are more trusted baits (tools ) that I use that catch fish. But the 2 above consistently catch me the most fish ,with some quality fish in the mix. Last year I caught an 8.6 on a 4 inch senko. And a couple months ago my son caught an 8.2 on a zoom fluke. So it's not just about numbers!
  19. They're good to eat but I prefer fried bream ( several varieties ) My favorite is Red breast. And right up there with the bream is fried catfish.☺ Not minimizing your catch though. I'd eat one in a heartbeat. Take some live minnows over there and you'll get some more!
  20. I've never lost one to a bass. My middle son accounted for most of my lost gear in one way or another ! The closest I came to it was fishing Ocean Pond in N. Central Fl. I had pulled into a little cove and saw a bass nail something near a Cypress tree. I killed the motor and grabbed my rod excitedly but another combo's line got snagged on the handle and it fell overboard. It was April, the water was still cold, and I had forgot an anchor. I stuck a paddle down to see how deep it was, (6 feet )took the flannel shirt off out of my overalls, whispered a prayer, looked around for gators, and jumped in. Amazingly, after about 5 minutes I stepped on it and got it back !!!
  21. Been pretty nice here lately...
  22. Kind of a crappie subject, but Tomorrow's the big day Just started taking the PURGE.
