  1. Good point. I haven't had it on a trailer because the boats in the lake behind my house. I'll try clamping it to a sawhorse and see if it's the angle, but it literally works fine until it hits the water so that would be amazing odds to have a short in the exact angle that it makes when it hits the water. I haven't had time to do anything else recommended yet but I'm getting closer !
  2. My Grandkids wont eat leftovers either. But I'd bet they'd eat them if that's all there was ! I can always tell when my Grandaughter is about to ask me for something when she starts with " So , Grampa... I get a kick out of the epic story she creates to get me on board with whatever it is she wants.? I am trying to get my grandson to mow the WHOLE yard. So far , he will mow the front and part of the back, and then find an excuse to stop. Today it was his earache. Funny how it only seems to bother him when there's work involved. He's not lazy, Just motivationally challenged ! ? I know, I've been a teen ! But I do see improvement. I try to be a good example because their dad ( ex son in law ) could care less.
  3. No. Where is it ? The motor does not run in the water. Nothing happens. When I pull it out of the water with the handle on, there is a pause , then it comes on. It also works if I pull it out , then turn it on. It appears to be as strong as ever. Connections and battery are good. If I have it running and put it into the water, it immediately shuts off.
  4. Nice one ! Congrats on your PB.
  5. I wish mine would go with me. Its been nearly a year since the last time she did. But at least she's ok with me fishing.
  6. Thanks !
  7. Welcome. What part of Florida ?
  8. Not yet. I had thought it just needed new clamps and was getting a poor connection. I'll check that and for water intrusion like brew said. It seems to have full power out of the water so it seems like it would in the water too. But it won't turn it even slightly.
  9. Not yet but I plan to.
  10. Thanks. I caught it on a 5 inch yam. senko, with their version of watermelon red. And it was the last one I had. It was almost torn in half from other fish.
  11. Looking forward to your updates and hoping the best for you !
  12. I was high up In the Georgia mountains camping and drunk water coming out of a hole in the rocks. Best tasting water I've ever had. No Ill effect. I also went camping with the family in the Florida backwoods and we all had some of the melted ice cooler water. Before long, we were all hunting our own private palmetto bush ! Glad we had plenty of toilet paper !
  13. I have a 4 year old Minn kota trolling motor. It runs fine when it's out of the water. As soon as it touches the water, it quits. I have never had this problem in owning various units for 35 years or so. The battery is new and well charged so it isn't that. I also just put new clamps on to try and solve the problem, but it wasn't that either. What do y'all think ?
  14. Got out around 6:30 this evening. Trolling motor won't work. So I unload it and the battery at the dock and head out with the paddle .Caught a few pound size fish and made it down to the deepest hole at my end of the lake, which is ringed by eel grass . Caught a couple , and then had another fish break my line, which rarely happens to me anymore . I was a little aggravated by that, kind of grumbling to myself. So I kept fishing the hole. Had another fish attack the 5 inch yamamoto senko, in a watermelon red type color. When I set the hook , I knew it was a nice fish. Thinking maybe 4 pounds. It surged under the boat and I pulled it out and then she surged away from the boat and I pulled her back and was able to lip her. To my surprise, the fish was a lot bigger than I had thought. She ended up weighing 8.1, and was 25 inch long. I'm still hyped up after an hour and a half. Thankful !
  15. Stand up in a kayak ? You must be more flexible than me, brother. Getting in and out of it is hard enough !
  16. I was just thinking about taking mine out this Sat.( for the first time this year )and this post caught my eye. I usually would rather fish in my J.boat or bass hunter, but it's the time of year when the lake is the most full of weeds and algae, so the kayak works the best. Thanks for confirmation of what I was thinking ! Now I've got to go find a waterproof case for my phone so this one won't be ruined like the last one !!
  17. Yeah, and we have lakes like Kingsley. Some of the locals think the next Florida ( maybe world ) record fish swims in there . I've heard of several 14+ fish caught in there recently. But you can't get in there unless you are military or know somebody that lives on it.
  18. Was out at our church farm this evening and noticed some topwater activity in the pond. So I grabbed an old cheap spinning combo that was there, and found 1 hook that would work, and searched diligently through my tool box and found 1 old rootbeer fluke. Caught this one reeling it across the grass near shore. Also caught a dinkand lost a few others. Also saw a fair sized buck at the woodline, but too far away to get a pic.
  19. You caught it on a senko ? Never heard of that before. I caught one that was 23 pounds and it was just under 3 feet long. For a minute there I was wondering if he was going to spool a BIG saltwater spinning combo I have. I vote your fish for "carp of the year "?
  20. Sounds like you described my home lake. Except the jig-in-winter part.
  21. I wasn't aware of your chemo. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
