  1. We've been in a cool snap. ( It got down around 60 for a low a couple nights ago. Going to be 91 today though !?
  2. You can actually turn off the a/c ??
  3. I didnt think to take a pic but I took a chance and caught one in the palm of my hand. It didnt sting. In the water they pulsate as they swim along.Just like gundog said, there insides are cross-shaped and they are transparent.
  4. As we were fishing yesterday, we noticed little, nickel sized jellyfish in my home lake. U.F has an article in them, as does wikipedia. They say little is known of them harming waterbodies, but they are invasive ( non native ) to florida. I wish I had taken a picture but I will if I see them again. Does anyone know if they hurt anything? This is the first time Ive seen them in my life and 40 + years fishing my lake.
  5. Got that right ! Wish the best for your friend. I feel like just driving over there to help somehow.
  6. Got out for a few hours late this afternoon. It was good to have @BassinSoldier along and we got good cooperation from the fish. He was wearing out the fish to start with ,using a war eagle spinnerbait to catch the first 5 or so decent fish. I had caught a few on a super speed craw, and speed worm. @BassinSoldier caught several more on the spinnerbait until it broke, all healthy decent fish. I began catching a few on a june bug trick worm, and switched to a 5 inch pumkin ,chartruese tail yum dinger, and caught several more, including my biggest. In the meantime, he had switched to a rage tail swimbait and had caught several more on it. His big fish came the next cast after my biggest. We caught most of the fish around the eel grass edges again. Ended up with 18 or so. Got to enjoy a GATOR orange and blue sunset too !
  7. If I read it right , Michael was the third most intense landfalling hurricane to hit the U.S in recorded history, based on the pressure of 919. Stronger than Andrew or Katrina. Hopefully, it will diminish rapidly before it gets to the Carolinas and virginia.
  8. I saw the one where he found a boat last year. We had a child go missing a couple years ago and the police divers were searching all the ponds and found a car with a skeleton in it . Its right down the road from work and I just happenned to be going by as they pulled the car out of the pond.It was determined that it was a sailor that went missing around 10-15 years ago.
  9. I also have a recurring dream about being back in college , which has vague similarities to the Jr. college I went to. In the dream I attend class, but most of the dream is about a class that I havent studied for but I signed up for it and I dont know how Im doing with the grade or when it ends. Kind of a college twilight zone.
  10. As of 11 a.m the sustained winds were 150 mph, which is almost a cat. 5.
  11. Well, lets think of the Florida gulf coast first. Last I checked at 8:30 , it had 145 mph winds, with gusts to 165. They predict some areas will get 14 ft storm surge. At St George island (where I have fished before) in that area some foolish folks have chosen to stay ( the island is only 10 feet above sea level ). The Weather channel says this is the worst hurricane to hit the florida gulf coast since recorded weather history started in 1851. Im in the jax. area and we are getting winds 20-30 now from it with higher gusts and the storm is around 200 miles to the center from here. These folks on the gulf need our prayers and support !!!
  12. The second biggest bass I ever caught was directly because of google map. I checked out the area on it while eating lunch and found a big pond behind a target store. 15 minutes later....
  13. Had a nice afternoon with near perfect weather. Slightly cooler and less humid. I started out with the ruby sparkle baby brush hog and caught 5-6 , on the east side of our island. Got out past it and switched to the watermelon seed fluke, and caught 8-10 more around eel grass edges.. Caught several on a ribbon tail worm, especially reeling across the top of and around eel grass. And 1 on a zoom z-hog. They were biting real good. Ended up with 19. No big fish, but the avg size was 2 pounds, got several around 3. Caught 3 on consecutive casts. The bite today was fall-like, but the weather isnt quite there yet.
