  1. It was Brett Hite in the video you watched. He uses the glass rod because it gives the chatterbait better action when steadily retrieved or when ripped from grass. Also the more give allows the fish to really choke the bait resulting in more boated fish. I used to use a MH/Fast rod for chatterbaits but felt like I missed too many fish, so I had a custom glass rod built. I now use a 7'3" Heavy glass rod for my chatterbaits and it was the best decision I ever made. That rod also handles hollow bodied swimbaits like a beast as well.
  2. I didn't know anyone else made a buzzbait other than Boogerman...???? Only one worth purchasing IMO...but also they are so good I have never really branched out and tried a bunch of brands. You don't need to if you have Boogermans in your tackle box.
  3. Call Brian at The Tackle Trap, best prices anywhere and as good or better than most places sale prices (including TW)! I order a lot of stuff from them and every single experience has been awesome!!!
  4. Looking for a swimbait head mold that will hold a 7/0 and 8/0 hook, does anyone know of one??? Prefer the shape of the bullet nose mold but need one that will hold a bigger hook and that has a better bait keeper than the Do It Bullet Nose mold.
  5. Yeah some do. I'm gonna be honest, I like the Curado I, but I much prefer my Curado E's. Don't like the Chronarch E because I don't like white reels lol. Curado I is a great buy at the prices you can get them for, but I'd rather buy a used 200E or 50E. For some reason the I just doesn't do it for me, but the Met XG...that's a whole different story haha. John did you ever find out about the Antares HG from Japan Tackle?
  6. I agree with J Francho. I throw mine on 1/4 oz Buckeye heads as well and glue them to the head. I like to throw them around laydowns, trees, etc. Also very easy to skip under docks.
  7. I don't get this. I have backlashed plenty of times (just like everyone else here) and had some really bad ones. After picking them out, I have not one time had a kink cause my line to break. I think it's a copout for manufacturers IMO. Some others here may have had this cause their line to break but I haven't. I have hear of quite a few people getting bad bulk spools of Invizx tho...
  8. Is the HG spooled or backed with braid?
  9. Yeah I almost got the crankin version, but I couldn't resist having a bass blow up on a topwater rat.
  10. I have the same one! Only thrown it once and not for long, haven't caught a fish on it yet but the action is awesome. Clayton of CL8 Baits was a great guy to talk to and was very helpful with my decision!
  11. Who cares if he can't stand your writing. Don't change it just because he doesn't like it. I don't even know why he said it, there was no good in that comment or that could come out of that comment.
  12. Wanting to get the gear set for a Brenious to put in my Scorpion 1000XT, where can I get them? And also, would it be hard for me to change these gears myself?
  13. I wish I could get that much stuff on tackle warehouse for $50. Usually I only have 2 things in my cart when I'm at the $50 mark
  14. No, they have the left handed 5.6:1 ratio in stock. Gah you got me excited for a sec.
  15. Awesome thanks let me know and I'll order as well.
  16. Yeah I have looked all thru eBay and I wouldn't mind paying some of the prices but like you said, bad reviews. If I'm gonna order from Japan I want it to go perfectly so I don't have to send anything back. I've been looking for a solid 3 months and jpangler, digitaka, and Japan lure shop have all been sold out. And no chance I pay $600.
  17. Can anyone tell me where I can get the best price on an Antares HG? I know Japan will be cheaper but I can't find it in stock anywhere...thanks!
  18. Agreed. I don't get how all of these people are having issues with fluorocarbon???
  19. Carbonline or Powell 723 whichever one has more give in the tip. I like more give in the tip when I'm fishing swimbaits so the fish can really get it in their mouth.
  20. Pro's rep it because it's what they use almost exclusively, not just to promote sales.
  21. I'm not looking for a kit to include the rod and all components. I am very familiar with rod blanks and all of the components, just wanted to know if there was a "good" kit with all the tools needed to build a rod.
  22. Is there a good rod building kit out there that includes everything I would need to build a rod? All of my rods are customs built by someone else, but I've really been wanting to build one on my own. If there is one that includes almost everything I need, let me know what else I would need with it. Thanks!
  23. I have one Curado I that if I back with braid straight to the spool, it slips and the drag does not work. I have never had that problem on any of my other reels but with this one Curado it does it. I just stripped the braid, put electrical tape around the spool and put the braid back on and now it's perfect. Haven't had a problem since. So if you are using braid with no backing then that is more than likely the problem.
  24. I throw mine on a 7'6" MH/Fast action and a 7.X:1 gear ratio.
  25. Agreed, I only have 1 left!
