  1. Scorpion 1001 XT is the same as the Curado 50E, I believe they had the same size handles. Metanium and new Scorpion will have the same size handles as the USDM versions. I'm actually not 100% sure that there is even a difference in the USDM and JDM Metanium, I'm pretty sure it's called the USDM version because it's actually offered in the US instead of having to buy it from Japan. Met XG has a 96 mm handle on it which is longer than the regular Met and the Met HG.
  2. New Met XG and Aldebaran HG, gonna give em a good workout this weekend!
  3. I have used both and I like the regular BB1 better but I'm probably in the minority. BTW, American Legacy Fishing has the BB1 Pro on sale for $130 I believe.
  4. MP (Multipurpose) Jig
  5. 784 is a much better option IMO. I have fished with both and if you want to drag jigs the 784 is the ticket. If you can skip baits with a 744 then you can skip baits with a 784, but that's not what you are looking to do with it anyways.
  6. I'm a big fan of the Curado E5. It has a 5.0:1 gear ratio as opposed to the Chronarch E5 with the 5.5:1 gear ratio. Both are great choices and the Curado IPG is great as well. I just really like Shimano lol. I have owned some Lew's in the past and they are good reels too but I would rather have a Shimano because it's a Shimano. Lew's, Abu Garcia, and Pflueger are all pretty much the same thing. With Shimano I know I am gonna get quality, not saying that other brands aren't, but with Shimano I KNOW.
  7. About that time! Got a Met XG and Alde HG on the way, will post pics when I get them in!
  8. Rainshadow Immortal 7'2" ML and a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 2500. IDK about all the "choking point" stuff but these pair perfectly and combined are as light and balanced as I have ever felt.
  9. Or is it 7'(3') = 21'squared????
  10. I used 20 lb fluoro on mine with a mono leader on the other end of the swivel. I have never lacked any sensitivity or felt there was too much stretch in my line. But to answer your question, I don't know if the switch will help you as I find myself retying a lot with fluoro as my crig mainline. I think dragging any kind of line across rocks is gonna cause frays in your line. If you did switch to fluoro I would try either Sunline Shooter or Seaguar Abrazx. I use Sunline Sniper on mine and find I have to retie too often. Will be using Shooter when I re-spool.
  11. Lol agreed. Hey John G you got a chance to pick up an Antares HG yet? I've still been looking...
  12. If I might add, on the dropshot hooks (if you are still getting hooks) you need to get the Roboworm Rebarb hook in 1/0 light. It hooks them in the roof of the mouth every time and way less fish pull off.
  13. I know a couple pros sponsored by mainstream manufacturers that have some Rainshadow blanks on their deck Most of the time the only people who know are them and the person who built it.
  14. I did not. I was at the register buying a few things and the guy in front of me had an Endurance in his hand and it rung up at $100, that's how I knew of the price.
  15. Inferno's were $100 as well if anyone likes those, you guys need to check out their reel prices too.
  16. Just wanted to let you guys know that I was in Shelton's Clothing and Outdoors in Moulton, AL this past Saturday and they still have some Powell Endurance left for $100. I know a lot of you guys on here like them so I just thought I would let you guys know. Their phone number is (256) 974-9079...Hope I don't cost any of you guys too much money.
  17. I'm not a big fan of anything Booyah but love the Xcalibur traps. Hopefully they didn't change the design any and have good quality control. If not, I think I still have 8 XR50's in Rayburn Red so I should be good.
  18. The EMTF will throw every bait you mentioned exceptionally well.
  19. I use both and the Invizx stretches more than the Sniper in comparable line diameters. I can actually feel the difference fairly easy as well. My vote would be stick with Sniper or if you want to use Seaguar then get Abrazx and use KVD Line and Lure. Abrazx has a lot less stretch but is also a lot less manageable.
  20. I use a 7'6" MH, 20 lb. flouro with 15 lb. mono leader. 3/4 oz tungsten. I like a longer rod for quicker sweep hooksets, plus a farther cast. Most of the time I am throwing a lizard, but if not then I'm throwing a 10" worm.
  21. I use a heavy/mod-fast for all heavy cover. I hate broomsticks and I have never needed one.
  22. Accu Cull Digital Scale is the best I have used by far.
  23. I used to have the old version of the Daiwa Exceler 2500 and it was a great reel. I use a Stradic Ci4+ now and if you have the budget it is a great reel. If not, I think you will be happy with the Daiwa Exceler as well. And as mentioned, the Pflueger President is an awesome reel for the money. I prefer Sunline SX1 braid on my spinning reel. All braids handle well but IMO SX1 is the best handling. I use either 12 lb. or 16 lb.
  24. 2014 Skeeter FX20...been waiting on this one for a long time!
