  1. I like the SPRO frogs, the popping one is awesome.
  2. Been catching my bass lately on a 10 inch power worm, also like flipping creature baits.
  3. On easter my uncle gave me a old fish eagle rod that was stiff enough to use as a flipping stick and I caught more 4lb+ fish on that rod than any other rod I've owned in the short amount of time I had it... I recently broke it sadly and I wasn't even fishing when it happened! I loved that darn rod!
  4. Should I have the throttle open a little when trying to start my engine for the first time in the morning?
  5. Everyone I've talked to (that have actually ate them) say they are good. I think its a myth that they taste like crap but I've never had one... Don't knock it till you try it I guess lol! In Louisiana they are a delicacy supposedly
  6. I just have the engine in neutral when I start it with no throttle... And does a butterfly choke make the butterfly valve flip open? Because that's not what my choke does, my choke just pushes a button in on top of the carburetor when you twist it I believe...
  7. Lol good to hear, we're running outta people like that on earh
  8. I guess it depends on the time of year but right now I'd take the shade of the cypress trees while flipping grass over anything...
  9. I assume its so they have less resistance coming through the water but I might be wrong...
  10. My electric choke stopped working so I use the manual choke by twisting a knob on the engine, then I go to turn the key and when it starts I go back and turn the choke off on the engine. I followed what W2S said and it started better but I still think I may have pumped the bulb to much so I'm gonna do it less next time.
  11. I have always liked feild and stream... Its usually half and half fishing and hunting but I really only care to read the fishing parts and its not always focused on bass sometimes its other species like muskie, trout, pike, walleye, etc.. I like it because the storys and articles are written fantastic and some of the story's they have are very good reads.
  12. I don't use my phone while I'm fishing besides answering a phone call if my family calls me or taking a picture of a fish or some scenery. Most of my friends and family that are my age that I take fishing are the same way, I really think a lot of adults blow it out of proportion, sure there are some people that could use some time away from their electronics but its really not that bad. And I don't see the problem with the dude getting on his laptop in the boat, if the guy wants to take a break and hop on his laptop then more power to him, I know after fishing for hours I like to sit down and rest for a second too and sometimes I'll browse bassresource on my phone.
  13. Bagley's older baits are pretty good, my uncle gave me a lot of their cranks that were 10 or more years old I replaced the hooks and caught a lot of fish on them... I've lost most of them though haha
  14. I've always wanted to see billy currington in concert... He came to my home town but I couldn't go and missed it maybe he will come back around here sometime. I believe he has one in Jacksonville coming up. Never been to a concert BTW.
  15. Lol I'm not reading a book everyday but I do like to pick one up from time to time... Have you read the crucible? Its about the Salem witch trails and was a good one but its more of a play. One flew over the cuckoo's nest is a really good one, I'm sure you've heard of the movie (which is really good) but the book is also really good.
  16. My outboard always has trouble starting in the morning, I'll put her in the water pump the bulb till its tight and choke it and then turn the key and it'll just spin and spin but never start but then like 10-20 minutes later you turn the key and it starts up right away. If you try starting it In the afternoon even if its been sitting all day this doesn't happen it will just start up with no problem, once you get it started once in the morning it runs perfect the rest of the day starting up whenever you want it to. What could be some possible causes for this?
  17. I've always liked the story of Aron Ralston and how he survived the situation he got put in... As much as I liked his book and his story I never watched the movie 127 hours where James Franco portrays Aron raslton. I just finished it and it's great, really puts you in the shoes of Ralston and makes you realize how hard it was for him. Some people say they could do what he did no problem and some say they'd not be able to muster up the courage to do it. Could you? Do you think you could cut your own arm off with a dull pocket knife to save your life? Its hard to say because I'm sure the mind thinks different after being stuck in a canyon for 5 days but I honestly don't know if I could... If you haven't seen the movie go find it and watch it because its great, and if you don't know who Aron Ralston is or what he went through you need to look it up ASAP.
  18. Its been tough as nails here, yesterday morning I fished 3 hours before getting the only fish of the day on a 10" inch ribbon tail and the lakes around here don't have deep water to run to when the summer comes, to make it all worse I broke my flipping stick and that has been what I have been catching all my good fish on in the heat so I guess I gotta find a new go to technique until I can replace that rod. I might try flipping a 3/4 ounce weight into slightly less thick stuff with a MH but it probably won't turn out well, might be my only chance to land some decent fish here though...
  19. Its funny how people bash soda because of the negative health effects but most people have at least a few unhealthy habits, its hard not to. A lot of fishermen bake themselves in the burning hot sun without adequate protection for example (I'm one of them).
  20. That's cool, I didn't even know they made power poles this size...
  21. I was gonna try to commit to throwing one this morning but I decided not to because the grass here is ridiculous this time of year...
