  1. Its a nice concept but a few always ruin it for the rest of the people...
  2. x2 I love square bills around wood... You will lose some but they are great around wood cover. Just pay attention and don't pull when your snagged and you won't lose much
  3. Do you guys think a bass can survive with one eye? I was fishing a spinnerbait around some grass and a good sized jackfish smashed it and I landed him and the hook was through his mouth and out his eye, I got the hook out and he swam off but then maybe 10 cast later it happened with a one or two pound bass. In his mouth and out his eye, I got it out as gently as I could but his eye was messed up but he also swam off good... I don't see why they couldn't live with one eye but maybe the stress from losing it could kill them.
  4. I'll only use a low gear ratio for deep divers sometimes. I use a 6.4 for most of my cranking.
  5. I do not like the Palomar knot so I'm not switching to that.
  6. Its a booyah, It has booyah stamped on the blades its just on the other side.
  7. Anybody fish banks lake Georiga? I was just wondering if any fellow bassresource members fish there.
  8. So in the major league fishing tournaments y'all are saying the fish can't touch the angler during landing so does that mean you have to net them? Like is there a no lipping rule?
  9. Has anybody used these with success? I got a white and chartreuse one in the 1/2oz size and can't get a strike with them at all... They look great in the water and the blades work great. The only thing about them is the head of the spinner is a ball of metal that is scored instead of the normal fish head looking thing (don't know if there is a technical term for "normal fish head looking thing" lol) I can catch fish on all my other spinnerbaits except this one so I don't believe its how I'm fishing them, they are cheap that's why I got them... EDIT: Well I'm pretty sure they are the vibra -flx's, i looked it up and i found out there are versions with and without the "normal fish head looking thing" but here is a picture of the one im talking about.
  10. They work anytime really you just need the right crank for the job, If bass are in the mood to chase they can be killer but even if they aren't use it as a reaction bait putting it right in front of their face to get the strike. Just get the crank where the bass are and it will produce!
  11. I really hope I can fish Erie sometime in my life! All you hear about it is good fishing...
  12. Yeah, the worst thing you can do fishing is seeing someone's catching a lot off of a spot and ride up to them and start fishing next to them... ESPECIALLY in a tournament scenario.
  13. Haha nice... They are probably thinking in their head, he puts fish in that live well then craps on them!
  14. Mostly all the bass in the lake and pond I fish have already spawned and started the transition to deeper water lol...
  15. They look like bagley crankbaits but I may be wrong
  16. Lol I did like glenn and put some chartreuse JJ's magic in the tail and started getting a few hits but I missed all of them :L I kept setting the hook but not getting it in there jaw good enough. Its not a very thin wire hooks so I think I'm gonna have to get some braid so I can have a more powerful hookset because this 8lb mono isn't working to good. Or maybe I'm just missing something...
  17. I'm surprised it hasn't happened to you guys yet... It doesn't happen when I'm using thicker braid like 40-65lb but when the really thin stuffs out like 10lb braid that's when it cuts my fingers like butter, I might look into buying the finger savers lol
  18. When the line slides in between the digits of my fingers and I pull it tight it cuts my fingers sometimes, has happened before on most my fingers but happens alit on my pinkie finger
  19. I'm using power pro super slick and sufix and improved clinch knot with the occasional double uni knot
  20. How do you guys hold your braid when pulling it tight... I've cut my fingers like 100 times this week tightening my braid knots and its getting old. I've got to where if I'm going on a long bass fishing or saltwater trip I bring a pair of gloves to use when tying my knots but I hate putting them on because it makes me feel like a Yankee. ( Yankee things a joke lol )
  21. I posted a thread to suggest me brands for Shakey heads and ended up ordering the megastrike shakE head in 1/4 weight, but I need some help with the technique. I throw it out there let it sink blah blah blah but then how do you guys get it to wobble and shake? If I shake my rod tip on a slack line it seems to not really shake but if I tighten up it seems to just drag and bounce the bottom like a normal jig. I'm using a medium power fast action spinning rod with 8 pound trilene XL if that means anything.
  22. Chartreuse is a great all around color for hard plastics, for soft plastics I like yellow colors and green pumpkin and topwaters I like black or white ( occasionally orange ) unless I'm throwing a frog where I like more natural colors like brown and green.
  23. I don't have any big bass stories but once I was fishing for trout and hooked into a HUGE Spanish mackerel after a great fight and struggle I get him to the boat and right as his head was going into the net my line slices in 2.... I saw him so I'm fine with that but I really wish I coulda got him in the boat!
  24. I'll have to stop by mine and see if they got some too, that's a good sale.
