Do you guys not like using this as a main line? I really don't like leaders except for braid. I'd rather have a flouro that's good for a main line so I don't have to tie leaders.
I've cleaned bass with multiple hooks in there stomach and a few with hooks in their lips, they were all rusted but not quite ready to fall out. The hook will eventually fall out and the fish will live as long as it isn't obstructing his ability to swallow, a gut hooked fish for example.
Today one guy put his boat by the ramp, parked it, then walked across the street to the gas station. I'm thinking, are you serious? I would have said something to him but I squeezed in my boat and didn't feel like waiting on him haha.
Im not frustrated or anything I just really wish I could have got a picture with that lunker. The lake I fish isn't know for big bass so a 5lb+ bass is very big there
Just hooked a HUGE bass. I soon as I saw it threw that crankbait right out... Had to be 8+... And my PB is 5 lbs.
I just wanna go in a hole and die hahaha
Yesterday I caught a freaky eel looking thing with legs and a tiny mouth in the river! Couldn't get a picture because my phone was dead. I've never had so much trouble getting a hook out of something, that was a strong.. Well a strong whatever it was.
A few days ago I tried a rig my friend tied on for me, I can't exactly remember how he had it set up but it had to do with a slip bobber and a treble hook underneath it with just the weight of the bait we were using. Worked pretty good for some channel cat
Do you guys like this line? Its cheap so I might try some 15lb out because I want some flouro for a all around jig, soft plastics, spinnerbait setup.
Or should I just stop being cheap and get some seguar invisx haha
Today I probably had 4 bass hit at my crank but not even get a piece of a hook... I tried everything from slowing down, speeding up, start stop nothing seemed to work. Anybody fish with square bills and trailer hooks without messing up the action and getting hung up every cast?
I figure it probably wouldn't work because I throw my squarebills into the cover and it'd probably get hung up...
When our pond at our house first got dug we wanted it stocked with bass, so at the lake we would catch bass and put them in a cooler full of cool water and they would stay in there for a couple of hours then be driven back to our house and be put in our pond. Just thought I'd share that...
I almost never use leaders because all the lakes and ponds I fish are 1- 1.5ft visibility. Except one place called rays mill pond thats gin clear then I'll throw one on.
It was bass for sure not small sunfish... I would fight them for a couple seconds before they got off.
Thanks for the tips guys it really helped between yesterday and today I've got about 5 good bass on the mega strike Shakey head.
Oh and BTW I switched to 10lb braid and it helped with my hook sets a lot!
Good deal! My Walmart doesn't have much fishing stuff but I've been to other Walmarts near lakes and rivers that carry more tackle that can have great deals sometimes...
