Catch and Grease

For serious tournament fishermen where every fish counts it is definitely worth the extra but for an angler only out for their own enjoyment I'll do fine with my 4-6$ lure.

First impressions on the 14lb sunline super fluorocarbon are okay, for a leader line its everything I need, its sensitive and strong but it has a good bit of memory, after catching 3 couple # bass it would bend a lot on a slack line. But I do like it, I will also pick up a spool of seguar red label and try it after I have a few trips with this sunline to see if I like it better. Thanks for the pointers guys

They just had a big sale on fishing lines and were sold out if seaguar red label in 15lbs so I ended up getting sunlime super flourocarbon in 14lb test, ive heard it was alright to so I'll try it.

My Walmart has one little fishing section hidden behind a wall way back in the corner that you would never find if someone didn't tell you where it is haha... But one day they did have a kayak full of marked down lures so thats something...

Try using squarebill crankbaits around all the cover. They work best when you can deflect them off cover or bounce them off cover on the bottom. You may lose one once In a while if you don't have a good retrieval tool but its worth it!

I just match the cover I'm fishing... Like with a grassy bottom I like green, rocks or timber I like brown... Idk I've never thought much about the jig color or if it makes much a difference...

I've never bought their terminal tackle but if your counting the trebles they put on their baits I'll disagree because the trebles that come with their cranks and such are of pretty good quality...

The lake I fish has a little more thick grass than other lakes so I have been using the 1/4 alot lately with success but use the lightest weight you can get away with. As for colors of worms, for low vis/muddy water go with bright colors and for clear water go for natural colors. Some people prefer dark colors in low vis water and that works to but I just prefer bright colors EDIT: If your looking for specific colors I like chartreuse, green pumpkin, black, June bug, yellow, and brighter greens those are some of my favorites but almost any color will catch a fish eventually just some can be more ideal at times.

I recently bought some megastrike ShakE 2 Pro series shaky heads and they are great. You can use baits that don't float very well with them because they are so good at standing up. For worms to use with it, there are so many choices I don't know where to start. You can try the tried and true trick worm or maybe try a worm I just recently bought called the tattletail worm. It works wonders in a Shakey head.

I love H20 express lures, great for the price. The H20 express CRS squarebill used to be my favorite crank until I started using the KVD1.5 but I still like the CRS and throw it a lot.

Bright plastics work great in the right conditions. In the lake I fish the water is really dark and the yellow bruised banana trick worm works wonders. Especially when its sunny.

When you go to BPS just to "look around" but come out with a 430$ combo and a dry bank account.

set the hook on anything that makes the crank stop vibrating, the hook set should be a sweeping motion to the right or left, Just pull the rod parallel to the ground tighenting up and hooking the fish. It shouldnt be really hard using sharp treble hooks just tightening up with a sweeping motion will be good enough. After hooking into the fish maintain pressure the entire fight or the fish can easily throw your hooks. Make sure your drag is set correctly and do not try to horse the fish in unless necessary. Remember you cant catch them all ( but you can come darn close ! ) so if one fish gets off its nothing to be down about. Oh and BTW your using a MH rod which isn't ideal, I prefer a medium moderate rod but have had success with medium, fast action rods.

I don't believe bass "sleep", More or less they just rest and its not only at night.

I finally broke and I'm gonna try leaders more, I use leaders in a gin clear lake I fish but only when I'm not getting strikes and I usually just use the cheapest line I can find for a leader. What line do you guys prefer for your flourocarbon leaders? Do you just get a spool of something like invisX Or get the more expensive small spools that are designed to be used for leaders? Or maybe you don't even use flouro and you use mono, if so why mono and what brands?

I have a gin clear lake with matted grass everywhere... I'm gonna try this next time I go out!

Squarebill crankbaits! You could give a potatoe a squarebill and it'll catch fish. Just remember you have to be throwing it where the fish are to catch em! I'd reccomend the KVD 1.5, bomber square A, or H20 express CRS. They aren't to expensive but catch the heck out of fish. Shad like colors and chartreuse are my favorite colors...
