  1. Around here its fun fishing around Cyprus trees and the cyprus knee systems under the water surrounding the trees
  2. Same here, I can walk them but not good at all but when I go to a spook I can do it with my eyes closed...
  3. Sorry I was exaggerating when I said rubber band haha Heck, everything feels like a rubber band when you try to stop using braid and experiment with other lines If I stop using braid to give FC another honest try then it will definitely take some getting used too... I'm used to feeling every little piece of grass touch the crank and feel every wobble... With FC you can feel it but its not as easy.
  4. I know KVD l&l is the best just don't feel like ordering some at the moment....
  5. Any good conditioners at academy? I went there before and didn't see any KVD l&l but I'll double check when I get a chance to run back in.
  6. Quick question, Whats a good brand of FC for cranking that's not gonna break the bank? Like 20-25$ I might end up trying FC again after this thread, see if I start liking it more than braid. I had sunline super FC and didn't like it much... Red label and invisx are alright but invisx felt like a rubber band like someone else mentioned I'd prefer one without much memory that will last a bit longer and doesn't need line a lure conditioner ( if that's even possible...)
  7. I guarantee you guys that like FC have fished way longer than me and could out fish me any day of the week, so I'm just gonna say that braid is my preference for most applications and leave it at that...
  8. That turf thing was a joke. It was after Brian claimed there was a "braid posse". I wasn't trying to run people out of the thread sorry if thats how you took It.
  9. You know, I've never really thought of that. Lol That's a very good point about the pros.
  10. Braid with a leader is probably more versatile than anything else but a zebco isn't gonna throw braid well from my experience so I'd just stick with fluorocarbons if your nit changing reels...
  11. That's another thing you have to consider is location, you probably have lots of rocks you fish constantly and most likely the main reason you don't like braid, but where I fish there is almost never a rocky place I'm fishing so I don't have to worry about braids bad abrasion resistance. and by the way there is a FC posse too and your in it! Lol, I posted something on another thread about how I think braid is better for beginners and you proceeded to try to shoot me down.... Yall FC guys just stay off our turf ya hear?
  12. Lol maybe I need to get into using the Alabama rig, It just seems like there is way to much grass to use it in the places I fish....
  13. And with FC you get a backlash and your line kinks up so its trash anyways? And yes on a slack line FC is gonna be more sensitive but I'm just saying for cranking braid is going to be your best bet because 90% of the time its on a line with no slack except with a stop and go. But yeah to each his own... This could go on forever, I just wanted to see other peoples opinions.
  14. Why would you not use braid for cranking? Feeling the vibrations of your crank and when you hit cover is very important for cranking and braid let's you do just that. The only problem with using braid with square bills is the fact that it gets tore to pieces, a lot of people think the 0% stretch will mess with their hooksets but that's really not the case. It just means you really need the right rod to compensate for the no stretch factor
  15. They catch fish, but I feel they arent too great when I use them....
  16. Also instead of just saying its false can you explain why? If you think braid is harder to maintain than fluoro I need whatever your using and when it comes to cranking braid is definitely more sensitive.
  17. I use the Alberto and I've gotten to where I use leaders a lot with braid, and no. Fluoro is enough to get the job done, while it is not as sensitive as braid for cranking you can still feel bites and cover its just harder to feel. Anybody that thinks fluoro is just as sensitive as braid when cranking is very mislead and hasn't tried braid when cranking for themselves
  18. I know this topic has probably been posted time and time again but I didn't see anything on the search that was very recent... I keep wanting to like fluorocarbon but the memory, line twist, and just overall line management always make me switch back to braid with or without a leader... Its just so much stronger and easy to cast and take care of and last a lot longer, how many of you guys use fluorocarbon as a main line? And why? I've been trying fluorocarbon lately on my square bill set up lately because I ran out of braid and the fact it is a lot less sensitive and harder to maintain than braid just really makes me not even want to bother with it....
  19. I don't know if it can beat 20-30lb power pro! I love cranking with braid... Abrasion resistance is the only thing I like about fluoro over braid, I'm still gonna try it though
  20. I'm using the normal sunline super FC at the moment not the sniper, but I've used the different kinds of seguar too. Thanks for the tips
  21. The neon bluegill is a pretty solid choice for clear water but in my stained/dark lake they work pretty well too.The sexy shad color is also a good all around choice but I've had good results using it in a stained/dark lake I broke my last neon bluegill silent crank today gonna have to go buy a couple more of those. Edit: sorry just noticed you were talking about sexy sunfish and not sexy shad, I've never used it but it looks like a good color
  22. Whats wrong with a little catch and grease??? I keep a couple bass almost everytime I go fishing. I doubt that hurts the bass population
  23. I guess I really mean how bad would it hurt the population and how long would it take to recover, I'm already pretty sure it would hurt the bass population
  24. Have you ever went back and looked at stuff you posted on this site and thought "that's probably the stupidest thing I've ever said." I've went back to old threads and deleted some of my post because they were so dumb lol
  25. I mainly fish a lake that is more swampy than most and averages 6ft deep so its pretty shallow, It got drained a long time ago to where you could walk across it. I'm just wondering if there was ever a long drought and the water level dropped a good bit do you think it would hurt the bass population??
