  2. X2. I put a black chair leg end cap on mine and kept adding nickels until I liked the balance. Total cost was 50 cents for the end cap and 20 cents in nickels. I think it looks great and more importantly it doesn't feel tip heavy anymore.
  3. This past season I intended to try the Ned rig but I never even bought the pieces parts for it. And I rarely picked up my spinning rod anyway as I mainly fished jigs on a baitcaster. So... I want to (try again to) try out the Ned rig next season.
  4. I've never fished the 894, but I have an NRX 893 and don't see any problems using a 3/8 ounce jig. With a lure rating of 3/16-5/8 ounce, the 3/8 would be right in it's wheelhouse. I use my 893 for up to 1/2 ounce jig + plastic and there is plenty of backbone for a strong hookset, but I've only used it in open water. Heavier cover may lead you to an 894 instead.
  5. I get to open water fish all winter. It gets cold here in the eastern panhandle of WV but I'm lucky that the river I fish doesn't freeze. And it has some walleyes in it. And once in a while I even get one of them to bite.
  6. Following this thread because I haven't found a good solution yet for braided line freezing in winter (and I really don't want to change the line). I've just been occasionally breaking the ice out of the guides and when the line gets ice particles on it, it reel it in between my fingers to melt/knock off the ice.
  7. Those are some great fish Meatloaf. I too suffer from jig addiction.

  9. I'm piggy-backing off of Mr. Bob because I had the same thought above when I've been on your website in the past. I find I have to look through every jig name to find what I'm looking for (not painful, you have some beautiful jigs!). But for example, I'm interested in a finesse football jig, say 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 ounce. I see "Grid Iron Jig" and think that must be it. Hmmmm, nope they start at 3/8 ounce. OK, back to home page. How about "finesse jig"? Nope, not an available selection. Poke around some more and find "Football jig" under "Supreme Jigs" and see a 1/4 ounce light wire. Now we are getting somewhere! Then next to it I see "Finesse Jig" and there are 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 ounce sizes. Not football heads, but these are a possibility. Hey wait, what are these Sway Jig thing-a-ma-jiggies? Wow, they have a football head! With a skirt they start at 1/4 ounce, but without a skirt I can also get 1/8 and 3/16 ounce. I wonder if Mr. Siebert would put a skirt on those? Having the jigs organized by category would make browsing your site easier. Just my .02 cents..... Steve-O
  10. You sound very, uh, "angry" about that...
  11. Agreed. Jon Baker was kind of a fuddy-duddy.
  12. UTZ Salt & Vinegar, best tasting chip in the world.
  13. G. Loomis fan boy checking in!!
  14. Both. Literally 99% of my fishing is done on a river and I love fishing it. But I also love fishing a lake the other 1% of the time because it's something totally different than what I'm used to fishing.
  15. X2. I have insulated waders and my buddy does not. In mid-60s water he was freezing after an hour and I couldn't figure out what he was complaining about! This winter when the water is mid-30s he is going to get hypothermia and die... In warm water months I just wade in shorts and tennis shoes and don't use my waders until the water gets colder.
  16. Great picture Pat. I just started noticing that our Upper Potomac crayfish have orange-tipped claws. I've got an orange Spike-It marker on my shopping list for this...
  17. Water can be toxic too... Shhhhh, don't tell the fish!!
  18. Beautiful, thanks for sharing! Your wife's yodel at the end of the song gave me some serious goosebumps.
  19. I was using braid for baitcasting but I switched to fluoro this spring. I started with 12# Invizx and liked the way it handled (I use KVD L&L) but I wasn't crazy about how stretchy it was and in my rocky river I needed something more abrasion resistant. Switched to 12# Abrazx about 2 months ago and have noticed less stretch than Invizx and much more abrasion resistance. And still handles well with the line conditioner.
  20. This has been my experience as well and my only complaint about Gliss. I'm using 24# on a spinning reel and always tie a 3-foot 8# fluoro leader on. The line has been fraying way above the leader, just from running through the rod guides. But I haven't broken off a fish (yet) and the fraying may not be a deal breaker for me. So far it hasn't frayed as bad as Nanofil does and I really like the extra casting distance I get with Gliss over the 10# Sufix 832 I was using before. So for now I'm going to keep using it.
  21. After getting autographs from the boys I would have been in line to get one from Larysa Switlyk!!!
  22. I'm pretty sure that is Hootie's "happy face". Ha-ha.
  23. Welcome to Bass Resource Mike88. If you are here to do more than just advertise products I'm sure you will find lots of helpful information in the forums. But hey, at least you created your post in the correct sub-forum!
