What a pie plate!

Good day man! We're going out this Sunday and I plan on throwing the buddy quite a bit.

Have you guys tried throwing a white fluke? That's another of my fall go-to's. I like them on a lightly nose or keel weighted hook.

You definitely have to be careful what you read and where you read it. The articles we read in BM are all about man-made lakes down south in a totally different climate with a completely different set of baitfish. The best thing you can do is just stay in a club as a non-boater and hope you draw a good boater to watch for the day. Learn your area, your baitfish, your crayfish colors per time of year etc...

How bout we just let this one snuff itself out....

I do have a couple of "universal" rods that get almost anything. But I have a couple of rods that I wouldn't throw just anything on; those are my glass cranking rods. I couldn't imagine trying to set the hook on a jig with my glass stick! So I would say that most graphite/composite rods could be used for almost anything but some, like a glass rod, may be limited in use.

I'd be all about a t-rigged worm with a bobber stop to peg. I'd use a straight tail worm instead of a u-tail as the straight tail will fall through grass better.

Or keep googling lake maps and the such; print off a picture. You could even send the pic to Staples and they could print it off in a larger size and better quality.

^^^Yes, you should have. I like to cast it out, let it hit bottom and work it back to the boat with short hops. And like the op said, don't overfish it. Usually you want a short pull up, just until you feel the bait vibrate, then drop it, let it set, repeat. But as usual, there are no rules so if they want it fished a little more aggressively, give it to em.

We know the same buddy. I can't wait till I can get me some bites with my buddy.

Dude! What are you talking about? I was out one rainy day with a t-rigged worm, getting a few bites when I got slammed reeling it back in for another cast. I cast out again, no hit on the bottom so started reeling and BAM, another one. I put 2+2 together and just swam the worm the rest of the day and just jacked em. The last thing I would have done is thought about changing baits! Why in the world would you change anything? Just swim the D-Bomb.

I've never fished Moosehead but I know there are smallies in there. There are bass tournaments there so they must be in there. I'd bring senkos, green tubes on jigheads, spinnerbaits, red craw rattletraps and small squarebills (in a couple of different colors). Let us know how you do.
