  1. I've never understood why it's so hard for people to just put the bait back in the package. I keep each and every soft plastic in their original package until they are gone.
  2. Without seeing and inspecting the reel, I would say spool tension is too tight.
  3. Thats because the watermelon dinger has seeds in it....
  4. I suppose it's close. I just have more confidence in the worm t-rigged. I feel it comes through grass better and I also swim it sometimes and I like it t-rigged for that too. EDIT: ^^^Wizard. Raul, you beat me to it!
  5. Dang dude! Those are beautiful! I've used bucktails for stripers but I've been wanting to try some for bass too. If you need someone to test those in Maine waters, just let me know!
  6. My go to pattern in the summer is a t-rigged worm with pegged weight in 6-12 ft grass flats. I feel I can always catch bass in those situations.
  7. I helped coach my oldest boy all through Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth ball. Then came HS ball and now he enters college this fall and hopefully will play ball for Thomas College. Sure it cut into fishing time but I wouldn't change a thing. Baseball has helped him in many many ways to become more confident and will be a background focus in college. Nothing, and I mean nothing will keep me away from that field for his first college game. I've always been there for him and always will.
  8. Well tell us some of your new ones and we'll fill you in on the rest.
  9. Most home invasion shots are within 10 yds. Put up a piece of 3/4 plywood, shoot it with #6 12ga and look at the hole. The intruder wouldn't be mad long.
  10. Not to hijack but how bout a spike-it marker? I was going to order a spike-it marker to touch some orange on my GP TRD's. Will they play well together or do I have to put them in separate corners?
  11. I love catching a new species to me; nice job.
  12. Last Sunday I was out, a lot of the bass coughed up craws that were green and orange. So I got to thinking that I'd like to dye some of my GP baits with a few spots of orange. Does the JJ's Methylate come out orange? Anyone used this color dye? Any others that you've tried that come out orange?
  13. Been thinking about doing the same but how did you tap into your vehicle reverse system?
  14. That's your fix
  15. That's a trailer full of freedom right there. Congrats!
  16. Yup, my mistake.
  17. Get that rubber band off your reel and you will have far better percentage. I have used braid for 20 years and then thought I was missing the boat when all you read about is fluoro. So, I stripped all my braid off, tried 5 or 6 different fluoros of top quality and literally couldn't stick a fish. I put my braid back on my jig rod and all is well.
  18. ^^^Keep rod tip low and sweep sideways
  19. BPS will have anything you need. Does the trailer have brakes or accessories on it? If not, you will only need the 4 pin style connector. And the only reason you would need an extension is if the trailer wiring is a little short. You want some slack in it for turning, backing etc... Don't fret; BPS will take care of you.
  20. I will say that I read the OP too quickly and stopped at jerkbaits; thinking he meant a soft jerkbait like a fluke. Having said that, I still wouldn't throw a hard jerkbait, popper or spook on my glass rod. Are we talking about the same type of glass rod here? Mine is the W&M Reese S-Glass rod; a real old school, whippy, heavily paraboloc rod. Would you guys really thow a spook or popper on this bike antenna? I'd lean toward a composite personally.
  21. Years ago I was the same. I hated the wind until I discovered how much better the bite is in it. Keep trying it and you'll just get used to it. As far as baits, I stick with spinnerbaits, squarebills, crankbaits, jigs and I still throw a t-rig; I just up the weight a hair. And keep your nose into the wind. You will have better boat control that way. And don't lock your motor up; keep it down; this can help act as a stabilizer. Obviously, if the wind makes the situation unsafe, leave. Safety first my friend.
  22. If it's going to be as multi-purpose as that, I'd get the graphite. You will have no hook setting power with a glass rod. If it was a crankin stick only, I love my S-Glass rod. It's so soft and handles fish on a treble bait very nice.
