  1. Came in to say this. Make sure you texpose the hook point too.
  2. Dude you're killin me! LMAO!! stuffed dog... That's so cool. I miss those days greatly. It's good you are getting so much on vid. I had a 15lb VHS you hoisted on your shoulder when my boys were young. (you keep quiet Kyle...too much to explain) so I didn't get too much of their catches on tape. Have fun with that young man. He has a great role model.
  3. You won't think that's funny 20 years from now young man. Now go to your room!
  4. Nor will they understand why this is such a lovely sight
  5. Yup yup. I vary the weight depending on the wind and depth I'm throwing them in.
  6. And I usually think that as well but I've never seen a gill in this place; or even a pickerel for that matter. The place is just chocker block full of bass. That's why I thought I'd try downsizing and simplifying my bait and it ended up working out. We have some unbelievable water up here. Uuhhh, I mean Maine fishing stinks. Don't bother coming up here....
  7. Dang! That's AOY stuff right there.
  8. Some good advice above. I'll add that sometimes it only takes a small variation of what you're doing to make a night and day difference in bites. Yesterday, I was throwing a green pumpkin jig and getting a few bites here and there. I switched to a green pumpkin craw t-rigged and lit em up big time. Both green pumpkin craw imitators, both fished on the bottom but one worked and the other didn't. And when I ran out of plastic baits I had no choice but to put the jig back on and the bite shut right off for me. Small differences.
  9. I throw mine on a 7' M Shimano Clarus , 2500 reel, 10lb braid and 10lb fluoro leader.
  10. Wow that did come out good.
  11. Welcome Wagy!
  12. Welcome! Sweet ride you got there too.
  13. It's definitely good to stay in shape. I'm still healing from my tricep re-attachment. I'm 4 months post-op and I have about 2 more months before I can really start back doing anything. I can't wait! Nice work A-Jay!
  14. Had a great day in the yak today boating 64 in about 5 hrs. But more important, I learned a few things. Probably the most important thing is just how potent a simple t-rigged GP craw can be. I was throwing a few different baits and they just weren't into them. So I picked up a jig and they just kept biting the claws off my Rage trailer. So, I thought if that's what you want, that's what you'll get. I t-rigged a GP Baby Rage and started catching them pretty good. When that pack ran out I started in on a pack of the Rage DB Craw in Bama Craw and it was lights out. For a long stretch of wooded shoreline it was cast after cast fish. I met up with my buddy and he said some of his spit out green and orange craws. I laughed and showed him what I was throwing and told him my numbers. It all made sense then. I have been using Rage craws for years but only as a jig trailer; never by themselves. Needless to say I have a new weapon. I also learned that they will readily eat a craw with only 1 pincer (already knew they would but was good to confirm). And finally, I learned that you can catch 2 fish on 1 hook! It looks like I stuck the smaller one and hook went out the side; bigger one chased it, swiped at it and got stuck too! I thought something was wrong by the way they were moving but didn't see it until they were right by the kayak. Great day all in all. It was good to figure them out today.
  15. Great memories. I love seeing kids get into the healthy sport of fishing.
  16. I enjoyed watching that AJ. Thanks for sharing. I'm hoping for a good fall bite too.
  17. Very nice!
  18. Dang dude! That's a serious vid right there! Very nice.
  19. Came back in to say this^^^
  20. I, too, would use the braid. I'd put a leader of 10lb fluoro on it but that's the beauty of braid as a main line; you can put whatever lb leader you want on it for different applications. Very versitile.
  21. I ordered a small pile of these just the other day. I was looking for a downsized jig to skip and Mike gave me some good info on them. Being able to talk with the maker is something you won't get with other jig companies and his jigs are top quality. Can't wait to throw them!
  22. It's all good Bill; we all do
  23. Welcome Zach
