  1. Ouch!! Those are tough to lose that way!
  2. What's been going on guys? Who's been out? I went out 2 Sundays ago to a new, small pond for smallies. Bite was good early, then shut right down for me around 9. Very clear water place which I'm not used to so maybe it was me. No pics but I caught 3 or 4 that were in the 3-4 lb area; good smallies for sure. A few smaller ones and 4 long pickerel. Wait, maybe figured this pic thing out...
  3. Up or down; seam or no seam...doesnt make any difference. The reason you are experiencing line twist is you dont have the bait straight on the hook. Meaning, the bait isn't perfectly in line with the hook. I like to use the seam as a guide while rigging to make sure the worm is perfectly in line on the hook. And make sure you enter the worm, both first and second time, perfectly perpendicular to the bait. Ive taken out buddies who aren't as into fishing as me and i know they are thinking im too anal about rigging my plastics but somehow i always catch more fish than them.
  4. That's one of those baits I had to have but I think I've thrown once? When I want to throw a jerk I reach for the 110. Not sure when I would throw the Shadow over the 110. I guess where there are rocks i could hit lol
  5. Ive caught hundreds of fish on the 1/10
  6. I usually only throw a trap in spring and fall and will only throw the original Bill Lewis in red craw.
  7. He plays for Thomas College in Maine. He's getting his degree in Criminal Justice, then in going to join the NAVY and become a SEAL. He has an affection for gloves. He has 9 and, for the longest time, wouldn't even let anyone put their hand in a couple of them. He has a break in process he goes through and he has them perfectly fit his hand; like a glo... well you know.
  8. Baseball Dad checking in. Had coached my son all through the years now he's playing NCAA in college; uses an A2000 as well. Pic is definitely an ESPN top 10!
  9. More specifically, the 22 and the 26 fters? I need a new super deep cb and saw these; they look good. I'm curious if there is a big pull or casting difference between the 2? Is the 26 a big heavy bait to be lobbing around all day? I have never got a cb to reach its advertised depth so I'm thinking if I get 18 ft out of the 26, I'd be ecstatic! Oh, and either will be thrown on a 7-6 XH with braid/fluoro leader.
  10. Nothin wrong with a numbers day!
  11. Nice fish Mike!
  12. Welcome to BR!
  13. I caught this one a few years ago
  14. I've had a lot of muscle cars and streetrods and used to paint the roads quite often; did a lot of drag racing too.
  15. ^^Glad you had fun with it!
  16. Not that particular area but you can't go wrong with a small crank, white fluke, popper, TRD on a Ned head, shakey head It's a pretty cool bait. I got most of my fish on a very slow swim on top and a couple swam faster under the surface. Do you have a pretty stout rod to throw it on? It's a little bit of a chore. The one tip I'll give is you really have to reel painstakingly slow to get that "swim" on top; you'll figure it out. Let us know how you do with it.
  17. I fished that little carry-in pond again on Memorial Day. Didn't fish like our first trip but we got some decent fish. I had 2 5's and what's even more cool than that is I got my first wopper plopper fish and a bunch on the BBZ40 Rat.
  18. Key words right there. I know Devo was great but don't whip it!!
  19. It sounds like you have everything covered with those 4 tbh with ya
  20. If I had to pick one do-all-rod I would probably buy a composite. Kinda the best of both worlds. And a MH/fast is probably the most universal setup.
  21. Whats your line?
  22. I've had a few DSG Tech Spec rods for years and they are great rods for the money.
  23. I went out last Sunday with a 90 and love the bait. I caught a chunky 3 lber on my 3rd cast with it. The thing I figured out with the bait was to let it settle before I started reeling and it plopped right away. If I tried reeling as soon as it hit the water, it would take a few feet before it surfaced and plopped. I also liked that I can use it like a prop bait as well; giving short, quick pulls.
  24. Yup. I love finishing ahead of the guys in the most expensive boats with the most expensive equipment. Just me, my 16ft Nitro and $50 rods....
