  1. Mine isn't a physical box, more a mental state of mind. When I struggle, I'll lean towards a TRD on a Ned head, drop shot finesse worm, small swimbait on a ball head; and I feel I can always get bit with a t-rigged worm (water color determines bait color for me) in grass in 6-10 fow
  2. I'll let out a little secret here. BPS has the Garmin Striker 5cv, in store only, discounted to $179.88 I just picked one up. You can call BPS home office/customer support, give them the model/sku #, and they can tell you what stores show stock. I then had the store that showed it, transfer it up to a store near me. They will not ship to your home; in store only but a great price on a new unit.
  3. Braid/leader=line manageability issues solved
  4. Glenn rubbin' elbows!! Too cool! Definitely jealous
  5. Was watching a show this morning on the Outdoor Channel where KVD was in Michigan, drop shotting a white baby Ztoo for smallies. He wasn't nose hooking this bait but more Trigged Anyone know the hook he was using for this?
  6. I was going to say this! When is the public signing and how much for a sig??
  7. It's called having a little class, respect and integrity. Does the lake belong to everyone? Sure it does Do those kids have every right to go fish that spot? Absolutely Was that a classless act on the water? In my eyes, yes If those kids are just local boys out fishing, then they have that lake for another 364 days out of the year. Personally, I'd never roll up on a spot I saw a pro fishing in a tourney of that magnitude. I believe they knew exactly what they were doing and not just passing by and thought to stop there. Just my opinion folks
  8. You guys are killin me
  9. Congrats!! That's a great feeling! Good luck with the boat; I'm sure it will get worked out.
  10. Spend some time in Cabelas/BPS playing with their units. Go through the menus, change settings etc...and see which template you like better.
  11. Good tips above^^^ And definitely have good ventilation/fan/air flow; and wear a dust mask. Also please protect your eyes with some good safety glasses.
  12. I just got one of these for my yak as well; can't go wrong with this unit. Great reviews/features at a reasonable price
  13. Does braid with a fluoro leader count? 15lb braid to 10-15lb leader will cover anything
  14. Don't you guys remember Schooled by Denny Brauer?? Man would he chastise his "students" when they grabbed the line! lol loved that show; learned a lot from it Like said above, I'll steer/guide the fish with my hand sliding on the line but I typically don't like to grab the line. I always hear Denny in my head yelling at me.
  15. A few off the top would be stroking a jig And I'll always remember KVD saying he never just brings a spinnerbait back on a straight retrieve; there's always a pause of the handle, a quick turn of the handle; anything to break up the retrieve. And one last thing, and not really anything different, but a lot of pros say that most guys overfish a dropshot. And I find myself getting more bites on a DS when I just let it sit and let the water move the bait.
  16. Absolutely! Try and remember how long the pause was, depth and time of day. Just duplicate that and you should be golden Pony Boy
  17. Great day! 55F....pffffttt....I'd be in shorts and a tank top
  18. I fish that area they were in often. Tons of really good water in that area; I mean a ton of lakes/ponds. It's called Waterville for a reason
  19. Nice job bud!
  20. One of my favorite catches of all time!
  21. I'd love to see that happen!
  22. Yeah, I wanted the 3.8" but it only comes in 3/4; which I didn't want The 3/8 and 1/2 come in 3" but that does seem kind of small. Oh well, we'll try it!
  23. I stop fishing when the water is too hard to launch
