  1. That's a great report. Thanks for sharing.
  2. holy moley Gene that is a monster. Great job mixing it up to yield such a beast. How many inches?
  3. Thanks jmhalvo for the report back. How did you do sully?
  4. Keep sierratradingpost.com in mind. I picked up a $300 pair of patagonia's for $100 and love them.
  5. Actually its about speed, comfort, and safety. When I am up at the TM doing AC Live, I find myself leaning against my seat, staring at my screen oblivious to what is around me. When at my steering console, I am able to cruise at 5-6mph easily from the comfort of my seat and watch for obstacles around me. When I am done I have to go to the front to turn off the AC Live so its easy to remember to store the TM.
  6. This is the way I record my autochart live data. Leave the TM down w transducer connected to Helix 10 on front. Use big motor to idle around as I watch the screen and the image be created. No problems whatsoever.
  7. Sometimes it helps when shipping charges get dropped, esp when you have a small order. DSG has free shipping w no min right now....AND 15% off...online only.
  8. Further North . Nope sorry meant to say 67. Ridiculous typo! Will correct that! Thanks for pointing that out.
  9. Congratulations on being only 16 and being able to buy such a boat. Without knowing anything about you, here is my unsolicited advice. If there is not a plan for paying for college, rethink this purchase and put at least the majority towards that. If this is taken care of...move to the following... If you have the $16-$20,000 that this boat will cost, think about investing that money for the long term instead. $20,000 at a return of 8% gets you to be a millionaire by age 67. Make yourself very comfortable with the math concept of compounding. Actually in either case, take $1,000 and buy yourself a really nice fishing kayak. This allows you to still save for college or pushes your millionaire status to the age of 68. If this 16-20,000 is a mere pittance to your overall wealth...God bless you. Enjoy what you have, understand that you are blessed, and enjoy the RT178. Maybe take the time to take others that are less fortunate with you. You could make a positive impact for life. To your question about the RT. Its a great boat. I have a 60HP and it does great. 75HP is probably quicker out of the hole but top end speed is one to two mph more. This 4 stroke is crazy smooth, quiet, and smokeless. Quite a change from the old 2 strokers of the past. As for fishing kayaks...the world is your oyster...many great options. I love my RT but also miss my kayak. Nothing lets you stalk a big bass like a stealthy kayak. Good luck to you.
  10. Sully...I want to get to that point of being able to get bit in all conditions...looks like you are working your way there if not already there. When it gets sunny or if it starts to heat up, my production drops like a rock...no matter if I target cover. Thanks for sharing your technique and whats been working for you.
  11. 90 on Friday really stinks. We were robbed last year of fall fishing. Last year we got an early cold snap then it warned which seemed to screw w the pattern....resulting in a crappy fall season. Heres to hoping for a great fall season!
  12. Fry dog. Nice fish. What were you using and where were they? That is fow, etc
  13. yep this is the TM battery level. Should be green after you charge the TM batteries up.
  14. Hey Paul those are some great vids. If YOU are not officially allowed to link maybe a fellow BR member can if we deem it worthy? Either way go to YT and search for "the nature of fishing" and you will find the vids. Or even easier here it is... https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCata79WFUPYPDG33LrC57Wg Nicely done Paul!
  15. Nice tiger. Caught a 44.5 in south metro a couple years back. Caught in a kayak ...mounted a replica through lax replicas. Now on my wall and is awesome. Beautiful fish for sure.
  16. My cabelas is in transition for the BPS takeover and is not restocking its inventory. Shelves and pegs are barren. Absolutely stinks. So glad a DSG is nearby.
  17. Geneoh was your jighead weedless? And what weight did you use? I've been reading about this technique and plan to give it a try this weekend. Sully wow didn't expect that detailed response. You're doing something right...stay on it!
  18. I must be doin something wrong...dog days of summer for me. How deep and what (lure and presentation) are you having success on Sully?
  19. 2 nights in a row....4 letters..... S L O W. glad to to be out though as both nights were beautiful. who is catchin em and with what and where?
  20. I just might give that drop shot a try this week or weekend. You all have convinced me that it's something I need to add to the arsenal.
  21. Bass were slow and lethargic last night. Tried topwater and got a few slams on the ribbit frog but no hookups. First time to try these and need to learn how to hook em! did manage to catch a 20 in 5lb hog using a senko late in the evening. She was a fun fight. My only hypothesis for a slow night is the high pressure conditions...anyone else out in the metro last night?
  22. Re using phones as a remote seems like a good idea but I am always afraid of dropping my phone into the water. Also interested in preserving battery life w my phone. The current MK app for the iphone is very limited as it has only basic functions. As an example there is no stow and deploy button for the ulterra on the phone. I left my remote on the boat expecting to use it once I launched it. Had to go for a morning swim to drag my boat back to the dock. Guaranteed that I wont do that again! If I had a stow and deploy capability I could have used my phone instead. Voice command is an excellent add that would be useful. Might be annoying to others in the boat however as adjustments are often made in quick successive order.
  23. When equipping my boat I made some large purchases that got flagged to be checked on before full invoice. Probably the same here. You will hear back in the morn as long as there are no outstanding payments or issue with your account.
  24. AJ that's interesting...how does it store when the boat is being trailered?
