  1. These boys above speak with wisdom.....you'll thank them when you see those walls of green.
  2. Happy and safe Labor Day to you all....the only time I would fish Holidays was on the upper Columbia River. Wind usually kept everyone away...out here in Tennessee I find other things to do besides watch people and shake my head.
  3. Awesome...... and I got excited over a two and a half pounder last week.
  4. Have used Smelly Jelly's Bass Feast for years....and hopefully for many more years
  5. May all your teams win......:) So looking forward to fall fishing......
  6. All the very very best for ya...will be lifting.
  7. Court's still out on this for me...was out the other day fishing a spinnerbait....both with and without trailer. Clear water...no to very little wind. Same spinner bait with trailer was murdered...without trailer...short strikes!!!???? Coincidence or not....will continue for awhile to use trailer.
  8. Just purchased a Vexus....no regrets. Actually had for seven weeks now.
  9. As some of you know I just purchased a Vexus 1880. I had a TR20. This smaller boat is amazing in so many ways...do I miss the speed...yes...but not much. A very stable platform and has everything I'll need. Pushing 70 so it will probably be my last. So much easier to push around in garage too. P.S. Sorry again I haven't posted pics....my son hasn't been over to hold my hand on this technology....
  10. Worst....wait for nice weather!!! Best....Pause...look around...give thanks...cast.
  11. It's getting close to that season when we feel like we own the waters we fish....not many like the cold, wet fishing days.
  12. Moved to Tn from Oregon ten years ago....sometimes wish I would have been born here....so many places to fish in such a short time!!
  13. Would be called a 'picnic' in Cali.....
  14. Used to have a MK 109 on front and have put people in the drink when I turned to fast as it was a burst of power. Now with the 80 spot lock it gradually picks up speed so not so bad in quick turns....time will have you being an expert up front.
  15. Northwest attitudes over trout, salmon and steelhead over bass....northern attitudes over walleye and bass ....republicans vs democrats....where's the "Love" and "respect" and lets get along boys and girls.
  16. Been together 45 plus years...could count on one hand how many times she has gone fishing and the majority of those times for some reason it has poured rain....poured. She is good at it...but it wasn't her thing but respects my love of the water. Her passion is golf and so I golf with her when she asks. Matter of fact we golf almost every Friday as kind of a date night.
  17. Welcome
  18. Doc showed me a picture of it in her intestines.....as you say...lots of things to be aware of.
  19. Heard a story from my cancer doc that a lady who was camping up at Norris contacted a worm....that was deadly. He said you didn't see things like this unless you were in a third world country!! Sorry don't have any better details
  20. Fingers crossed
  21. All good reads..... Grandma tells me of when I was very little back in the 50's of taking grandpa's rod when he got home with fish and putting a hook in the fish's mouth..usually a salmon and dragging it around the basement. Also I guess I was pretty found of fishing in the bucket when she was washing her car. Not too many memories of fishing with Dad as he was always busy...but I remember riding my bike to fish everywhere. Three miles was usually the max I did for this although I do remember once going over 20 miles to catch trout with a buddy....what a sore butt that got me!! Earliest memories of bass was riding my bike to a farm pond in Oregon three miles from our house. Was an amazing adventure every time. I remember using weightless night crawlers and then one day this man gave me a florescent orange worm....oh wow...those bass would come up to the top and crush it. So I remember going home and taking some lizards I had in my tackle box that weren't melted and cutting the legs off and making worms.... Now I pretty much just chase bass...but in the earlier days if it swam I was after it...freshwater...saltwater it was game on. While in the service I remember having a Mitchell 300 and an ol four piece eagle claw that went everywhere with me. I was on a "DE" off Canada once and all my line was off the reel while we were off shore somewhere. I remember being told that big halibut were in the area. Well....I guess they were right as I had this bite..set the hook and was able to reel this fish up about ten cranks...went back to the bottom and there it sat...first and only fish I ever intentionally broke my line because I could do nothing with it. Thanks for bringing back memories
  22. No football here....oh....I may watch in the evening if there's a game or I'm layed up but for me it's water time...quiet time....!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
  23. School will be starting....football too. Hunting season is right behind....with cooler weather. What's this mean???............the lack of jet ski's...pontoons...wake boats...a sense of peace on the water. WhooooooHoooooooo
  24. Well Done.....
