My friend is taking me out after some whites again this morning and mama says "NOT all day"....fine...fine I say. Anyway he gave me some of the new Nano fill from Berkley. I had tried this a number of years ago and didn't particularly like it due to the fact it didn't like the knot I used. Yes...am old fashioned and don't want to learn a new and improved knot....I like it simple....basically I only use three knots. But he says my double uni works awesome on the new nano and he also says wind knots are a thing of the past and on and on and on. So...he gave me a spool of twelve and it's off to the lake here in about an hour. Excited..... Yes...I have a spare rod with good old eight pound PP.... I like using around eight pound braid with an eight pound flur leader for lighter line fishing...will go to six leader when fishing is tough....but winter around here is usually not that tough....except for the fingers!!

I too have walked this road....painful. DMSO can be amazing....Years ago they did some more work on my arm and after an operation they said...OH....found something else in there we need to fix but didn't have your permission so we can do it later if you like......well.....@!#$%.....this kind of bent me a little....I didn't want to come back ....just hit me wrong maybe. Did the acupuncture thing and am a believer if you get a good one....this ain't easy by the way...but it worked well. Now...still use the DMSO and the legal CBD a friend turned me on to and basically no pain for a long time.... Love it...glad I tried something outside the box you might say... Big believer of warm and dry....When I was working a tackle store out west I purchased a product called "River's West" It has been amazing for blocking out the cold...but it's a fleece type material and it too is water proof...but it's amazing. When it's not so cold I use my Guide-wear .... which I too love but not nearly as bulky....and last but not least I carry a lighter pair of Toggs in the boat for when it's hot or I forget my good stuff or if the come along forgot theirs. I do like warm and dry....that way I fish all day Anyway....that's my story and stickin too it....Yes...I fish and enjoy all weather.

Dad used to say...It's just good to be out here" But Dad never caught many fish.....but he was a good man. Didn't matter whether it was rain, ice, snow or sun. Whew...whew....awesome.....thank you. All the best.

For whatever it's worth I use six or eight lb braid and I usually get it at sportsman shows. It's cheaper and I can get a lot for next to nothing.

I have a good friend ...who by the way took me fishing a couple days ago and dropped off some North Carolina "Liver Mush". Being from Oregon I had never heard of this but I love food so I tried it. OMG......fried and then add a couple eggs on the side....not bad...not bad at all. Actually he had brought some last fall and so this is the second time....when he told me was bring some it put a smile on the ol face....and oh....last night had some pickled venison heart....neighbor had given me a heart so made this up too......ahhhhhhh December.....fishing .... food....friends....Bass Resource....life may be short but it can be good.

Was another amazing day...but this morning I am officially wore out....hmmmmm...exhausted is probably the word. Off to Doc in a couple hours so glad I got the playing in....will probably sleep for a couple days.... Thank you all...... OH......we were only boat on the lake....it was windy and cold and I loved it. Fish....not so much....a lot of them had to breath fresh air for a minute while we took hooks out!!

That lake is so awesome...only been three times but oh the memories. Cannot really give any good info for this time of year other than find bait... If it was me heading there I would pick a big creek or two and either start in the back or front and move in or out quickly covering a bunch of water looking for bait. Jerkbaits....TRD's....jigs... Have a great trip....

LOVE LOVE LOVE Spot lock....in that order....bigger pics and everything is awesome but Spot Lock is amazing and will spoil ya. I'm just sad that mine sits in the garage now a lot....people who take me fishing want to use their boats...which is awesome...but not totally awesome

Getting the eye from mama...but went again yesterday and am going today too. Supposed to be cold but...it will be BEAUTIFUL....yes. Also will be exhausted but cannot pass up opportunities for these short windows. Have a doc appt tomorrow and Thursday and only the good Lord knows how many following and their time frames....all good. My wife's brother has been out from Oregon helping my wife with things and my friend took him yesterday too. Wore him out....was awesome. I'm finding I have to get a couple cups of coffee in me and some breakfast and then the ol eye's start to focus better...OMG....buddy today wanted to go out at eight and I said...CAN'T.....so ten it is....fishing should still be awesome...this rain and wind has really stacked the fish and they are hungry. So anyway....good morning all....have a great day. Last two days out have been so classic depth/fish finder days...find bait....see fish...go past bait....cast back to bait....reel in fish.

Happy for your "W's"......I even watched some football this weekend....but am more interested in peoples reactions and listening to their comments and expertise.

Heard from my grandma before she passed away when she would wash the car I would fish in the bucket....then there were tales of me hooking up grandpa's fish on a hook and dragging them around garage when he brought them home!! Now I'm almost seventy and have had to slow down due to cancer but heard a rumor I may get to drive again down the road...now it's all hitch hikin. I do love me fishing....BUT....you mentioned golf....I love to do this with my wife but oh this is one sport I really need my eyes....but I have a great excuse for my handicap climbing and climbing.

That's a rough start to a week....could trade doc bills but that wouldn't be nice.... Did spend a hundred bucks at the tackle store yesterday....first time have done this in three months....wow....loved it. Better luck to ya

I was blessed to be asked by my ol boss to hit a local small lake yesterday. Was amazing....amazing. Very little wind....water temps in mid 50's ....cloud cover. Perfect..... Anyway his dad and himself and I went on an anything in the boat trip and the trash talking came alive....catfish, shad, lots of whites,LMB's, was a thumbs up day. Only took me five minutes to tie a hook instead of twenty. They had never done the drop shot....and even though it worked well I could tell it was not a favorite!!! Mostly fished small lures on light line real slow and it was crazy once we found them....definitely an electronics time of year..... Praise God...I got out again....hoping to get out Mon or Tues too...... Tight Lines everyone

Wow...eye's are not working well but was able to get the gist of it that people are thinking of putting away rods with "open"" water around....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Wowzzer's...... Ok....done....

Once again up before the birdies....can't stand laying in bed and thinking....OMG does the mind run in circles just thinking of everything. It's been better for me to just get up...make some coffee...eat something...and then sleep again for another couple hours hopefully. Was invited by my ol boss to go fish for a couple hours so am going to try...vision still suck's but will get a bit better as day goes on....but fresh air and chatter will be good. Start the games next week with doc's so not sure what to expect...lots of experts have idea's but seems no one really walks the same trail. Still very thankful for what I get to do....Oh...small treat...I got to wash my head yesterday.....whoooooooohoooooooooo....seriously....was awesome. But...I'm not allowed to get a haircut for five weeks....it's been three or four now due to hospital stays and visits....so gosh...maybe I'll look like the ol days with hair to my neck!! Anyway...wanted to BS...you all have a great day....catch a big one or clean reels depending on where you are.
