  1. I must be old...I got a ton. Fishing in a bucket while grandma or grandpa washed the car. Going clamming and salmon fishing with my grandma many years ago. Winning my first western BASS divisional Taking my son, daughter and grandsons fishing and seeing them catch their first fish. Taking my wife fishing and having it POUR down rain and she took it well....but I got the message that this was my sport! Tight Lines
  2. Beautiful time of year for sure....my favorite
  3. Well it looks like the Hawks can do it all this year....so it could be interesting. Tight Lines
  4. This may have been kind of boring for most of ya but I finally got out on water for having been off for three months. (acute pancreatisus #!@$) Anyway my neighbor invited me out for about five hours. He put a seat in the back of boat which is something I have never done. Have used a pole in rough water but never a seat. Fished for about five hours (pushed it) and I was very tired. Was mostly targeting bluegills and small bass and thats what we got. Some nice hand size gills and five small bass up to 13 inches. Was great getting out and seeing Gods gifts....it had been a long time. Going to have to take it easy now...stomach muscles took a beating. Tight Lines
  5. Ouch.....to this day when using rattle trap style baits I get funny sensations when I hear that rattletrap noise when a bass shakes his head by the boat. Afraid ... yes ... very afraid. Had a couple experiences like yours with lures and hands. Tight Lines
  6. Looks like the hawks are off to a decent start. First half last night wasn't so pretty but second half was great. Probably not a lot of hawk fans here out east but hopefully they will be offering you all some competition! Tight Lines
  7. Not really sure here but I know I really like to fish out of a clean organized boat. It just plain fish's better. And if I can fish barefoot it gets better. Tight Lines
  8. All fish are Gods gift I believe to be outside and irrisponsible enjoying what he created. Used to fish a lot for salmon and steelhead but the last twenty years or so have been a bass addict. But if it swims I usually like to catch it. Tight LInes
  9. When I lived in Oregon and got to fish around a lot I made the trip down there one year and it is a great well run tourney with a lot of big name competition. Payouts are great too. Place is really hot and no place to hide so you almost have to have a bigger cooler for water and drinks than you do for tackle!! I didn't do so well as the only water I really had going was down by the dam and it was the year of 9/11 in New York....man what an experience. Anyway all my water was closed and never could get it going after that. Beautiful place to fish and cross fingers that the wind doesn't come up to much. If you can do it....great experience
  10. My favorite time of year...can hardly wait to get on water Thanks for posting
  11. 3inch yum dinger in either green pumpkin or watermelon on a light drop shot...or even just a 1/0 EWG hook and no weight. G luck
  12. Iagree...to bad you can't go a little further north for the salmon...but your in great bass area.
  13. Nice!
  14. We just move to Tenn a couple years ago.....Love Love Love the winter. Hardly any people and the fish be eatin. Tight Lines
  15. Welll mrbadguy it's rocking right now in Oregon so I'm sure ca is right there too. But your a bit vague on wether you want rivers or ocean or even what part of ca. Since it looks like your out of country your makin it tough. Good luck...a little more specific and we may be able to help.
  16. Bluebasser86.......hope I never....never top that.
  17. Wud love to get healthy again and some way have a hundred acres to have my whole family live on in separate places and live mostly off land. Hunt, fish, farm. Tight Lines
  18. Having only lived in the south for about three years I tried them once at a gas station. Guess will have to try one more time.....was not impressed. Sorry
  19. Oh what the experts put us through!!!!!
  20. Thank you all for your kind words...it's even more evident that every day is truly a gift. My future habits are sure going to change.
  21. Smoked 2 to 3 packs for some time. Went to dippin and loved it more. Daughter got oral cancer and asked me to quit. That was bout 8 or so years ago. I can finally say I have no desire. I used Nicorettes gum to quit and weaned to Trident Wintergreen. Sad part of story is daughter never used any tobacco but its been an awful journey for her. Good Luck
  22. Probably spelled it wrong but it is sure painful. Have heard it described as acid being poured in your guts to rats eatin ya from the inside out. (It's close) Anyway I had a tourney I was going to go to a couple months ago and at 2:30 in morning I get this pain in the chest that just starts growing and growing and I'm thinking @!#$ so I wake the wife and ask her to call 911 and it's back to being curled up in a ball and moaning. The next two weeks I'm in the hospital in various states of discomfort and hearing how lucky I am. My personnel doc said she'd never seen numbers that high. Anyway I was in the best shape I've been in years (guess this helped save me) but now I'm down almost 40 lbs. (less than my high school weight!) Now its hopefully a uphill battle....eating is the toughest....no red meat...no dairy...no fats...no fried and the list goes on. Watching the cooking channel makes me fantasize. If ya don't eat right its ever so painful. Yesterday I had a carnation instant breakfast for breakfast and a small scoop of mashed potatoes for dinner and two packs of fruity gummy bears. Oh yeah.....livin large. But I did get a decent nights sleep for first time in a week. Anyway sorry for carrying on....wanted to talk to someone and hope no one else on this site gets it. Hopefully it will be a fishing report here down the road. Would fall outa boat now. Was kinda sad...first time I've ever had to cancel two qualifiers, one for Heartland and one for FLW. Praise the Lord...all works to the good. Tight Lines
